It's bodie that shot him. He does stand his ground on the corner when it's obvious what's about to happen.it’s one of the underlying themes - how those boys don’t know anything other than the game. They rather go back to certain death in Baltimore than do something else. In one episode when they’re going to NY Bodie is surprised that there are different radio stations outside Baltimore; in Season 4 Prop Joe says something like “they think running out of town is going to another neighborhood “; and Bodie himself knows what’ll happen to him but he stands his ground on the corner until the end. Wallace is the same.
btw that’s a great idea. I could spend the whole quarantine talking about the Wire.
The game is addicting. It's hard to walk away from and go back to being normal. Being around all that crazy shit and excitement and risk and then just have a normal life. Not easyIt's bodie that shot him. He does stand his ground on the corner when it's obvious what's about to happen.
I'm not from Baltimore, from Nottingham, I had a childhood friend that I drifted apart from. At around age 20 I remember telling him he needed to stop fucking around (by know he had a bad reputation, and was in the local "crew") few years later his homies turned on him and fucked his arm up with a machete. Never understood why he diddnt just leave that dumb lifestyle beforehand
I heard that half those goofs on corners ain't even making minimum wage. It's a few rungs up the ladder before you making paper and at this point you hiding from the cops. What's the point? The game is addicting. It's hard to walk away from and go back to being normal. Being around all that crazy shit and excitement and risk and then just have a normal life. Not easy
And once you start getting good at it, makes it even harder
Excitement and danger and fun. And ppl look at you like you're the man. Walk into a hotel room w a ball of ice where theres some sketchy ppl u barely know and you're not sure if you're gona get robbed or cuffed. It's a rush. El chapo got got. Guy had more money than Davey Crockett.
Wallace went in too deep and tried to go back that’s why he “ needed” to get shot. He didn’t stand his ground in corner terms - he freaked out when he saw Omar’s boyfriend all fucked up and agreed to testify. Then he went out begging and pissing himself. He was “weak” according to stupid game standardsIt's bodie that shot him. He does stand his ground on the corner when it's obvious what's about to happen.

The most prominent factor IMO is social exclusion. Not every low level corner boy gets to experience the excitement and fun. A lot of The Wire is just standing in the street doing nothing or doing surveillance in a car for hours planning a stick up and it was all written by former police and crime journalists with inside info from former criminals so it's not just some white guys writing about the ghetto from an office with air conditioning.Excitement and danger and fun. She is one of the most one dimensional characters, just portrayed as a bitch all the time. Even then you can see the blame in her when McNulty triggers her implying that she doesn't care about D.D barksdales momma is another talking point. She just cares about the game giving her a roof.
is that Namond Brice's mom?She is one of the most one dimensional characters, just portrayed as a bitch all the time. Even then you can see the blame in her when McNulty triggers her implying that she doesn't care about D.
only Orlando was more one dimensional - always with the same plain face looking stupid getting manipulated by the Barksdales.
no we're talking about Brianna Barksdale, D'Angelo's mom. although Namond's mom is Brianna 2.0. Perhaps even more brutal because D at least was real close to the top of the hierarchy.is that Namond Brice's mom?
probably the worst character on the show in terms of huge piece of shit. I hated her lol
oh yeah, I remember herno we're talking about Brianna Barksdale, D'Angelo's mom. although Namond's mom is Brianna 2.0. Perhaps even more brutal because D at least was real close to the top of the hierarchy.
it's got endless rewatch value. it's imposible to even recall all the names and pick up all the little details on a first watch. Did you catch Rawls hanging out in a gay bar on Season 2?I did not watch the The Wire until last year, no idea what took me so long. But it was so fucking food. Def. one I will rewatch one day down the road
I do remember seeing that! But I don't think they ever did anything with that story, did they?it's got endless rewatch value. it's imposible to even recall all the names and pick up all the little details on a first watch. Did you catch Rawls hanging out in a gay bar on Season 2?
no they just left that in there for us to wonder. most they did is that at one point you can see a scrabble in the bathroom of the police department saying "Rawls sucks cock" - now is it just a generic insult because he was an asshole? or is it because people knew he was gay? was he really gay?I do remember seeing that! But I don't think they ever did anything with that story, did they?
I def. will rewatch in a year or two. Was so good. I heard how great it countless times, not sure why I never brought myself to watch prior.
Nah.Do you guys think Chris fucked snoop?
Somebody was fucking that. For sureNah.Think Chris has been raped before.
The look on his face says it all. He’s been there. Plus Snoop don’t get down like that. She one of the fellas. It would show dominance over her.
Some chick. Would you fuck snoop?Somebody was fucking that. For sure
Fuck yea I would. I'd donkey punch her until she could talk like Chris eubank. Some chick. Would you fuck snoop?
