I wholeheartedly disagree. All of those guys are legitimate champions but Dan Henderson is over 45 years old. He's 3-6 in his last 9 and he looked like a sad shell of himself up until the moment he killed Lombard. The guy needs to be saved from himself, and currently that is being thrown to the side in the pursuit of money. You're an anti-Zuffa guy, I would expect you to see this misstep by upper management before almost anyone else. This isn't a move that the UFC has to make, whereas in Bellator having Kimbo vs Dada was a necessity.

Speaking about legends, how about Jacare Souza? He's in his late '30s, he's had a storied career spanning through Strikeforce and the UFC, and he is one of the best jiu jitsu practitioners to ever fight in MMA. He has also performed miles beyond Hendo recently. Why are we going to push his shot back just so we can re-live a flash in the pan fantastic moment in the past? MMA has a bright future, and perhaps we should start moving toward it while remembering the past, and not trying to merely recreate it.

All these legends, even when they're out of their prime are able to finish any fight at any moment. Hendo only has 1 or 2 more fights left in him. He deserves to be given the chance to retire as a champion. This would be the perfect ending.

By the way the reason for me being against Zuffa is not their matchmaking. The main reason being against them is how they treat fighters and members of the press.
They are able to finish anyone at any moment, but what if when Hendo got his title shot when he was younger they would have skipped him and gifted it to a guy who didn't deserve it but had been around a long time, and then Hendo loses his next fight and is never champion?

If it's your time, it's your time. The past is gone, and we are trying to force something that isn't there. He could absolutely win the fight with one punch, but that is beside the point.

Absurd on several levels. I'll save my meltdown for when it is confirmed.

this will probably go down as the worst fight for a title in UFC history, a one eyed glass chin vs an aging ceramic chin

Has there been a less deserving title shot? Less than Tyron Woodley even. I love Hendo, but I will be really disappointed if this goes down.
You may have a point BUT if you look at Henderson's body of work and consider that he missed out on a title fight against Jones AND the champ wants this fight as much or more than the challenger, then you have to let it slide brother.

According to Ariel on Twitter this is far from a done deal.
Didn't say it won't happen but there are other options as well...

I can see this, but I really have a hard time ignoring the fact that I'm literally worried when he walks to the octagon. His face is flat. He just hasn't looked good lately. I'd rather him ride off into the sunset after killing Lombard dead.

I just can't see this happening. If Dan wins and then retires, the belt is in limbo and the next champ will not be getting it by beating the champ. That is never good. The UFC doesn't seem to like their champs retiring without losing first, even long lasting ones.

Don't get me wrong, it is a fight I want to see but it would make more sense if Bisping wasn't champ.

if Bisping lost against Rockhold this would have been a cool fight to make ( wouldn't have made sense ranking wise but would still be a fun fight )

Bisping was ranked 8th prior to fighting Rockhold. Hendo 13th. Fight would've made since. 8 vs 13 happens all the time.

No change in his Twitter to the naked eye to be honest. Still breaking fights first on my timeline...
To each his own I guess. His Twitter has seemed to revert to RTing already booked fight articles to me. Aside from a couple under cards.
