Due to injuries. Can you think of any healthy ufc champion that fought twice while looking to book a third fight. Without any of those fights being title defenses.
Anderson had a year between title defences with Forest Griffin inbetween. McGregor fights a lot more frequently than most fighters, let alone champions.

Conor has no fewer than 10 options because he's the UFC's most popular fighter ever.

If Conor wants the Alvarez fight, he won't (and shouldn't) vacate or get stripped.

It makes no sense to talk of past title unification situations because everything Conor is doing for the company has never been done before.
So let Conor do what he wants because he is the most popular? That Makes sense.

Champs defend belts. End of discussion

Right let's compare him to the greatest UFC champ of all time. Anderson defended in April fought Forrest. Then defended the following April. 2 defenses in a calendar year. Anderson had emptied out the division with what 12 defenses of so. Forest was also a recent LHW champion that Andy beat.
Remind me of how many title defenses Mac has ? And if we're going to go full retard and compare him to Andy he should have a title defense scheduled for Dec.

Conor fights who he wants and keeps his belt. End of discussion.
Lol poor trolling. Dude ran out of valid arguments so he resorts to "Conor fights whom he wants"

Conor got into a pissing match once with the ufc and lost. People trying to act like he can do it now. It won't benefit fighter nor org, but the ufc will win the pissing match every time. They are an org. They don't age the way a fighter does.

Defend or vacate. That's it my friend. Stop riding Conor so much. Your obsession is unhealthy

Conor fans want none of this rematch.
I'd rather see if he can become a two division champion like previously put forth with RDA. Then strip him of the featherweight belt immediately after. That said, I won't be unhappy if he defends his belt against Aldo, McGregor fights are great regardless of the opponents. This is just about making history, as I think that would be the more momentous event, and a better viewing experience.

Look at those moving goalposts.
LOL Please
Only posts that are moved are for Conor. How can you believe he should not have to defend the title? If he losses to Eddie at 155 does he get another chance? I'm using the logic that has been used for every fighter basically in the history of the sport. You defend the belt or give it up. It's not a hard concept to follow.

Times change, things change, that's good not bad. Just because something happened yesterday, doesn't mean it has to happen the same way tomorrow.

If he loses at 155 can he try at 170,185 or even try to cut to 135?

What is the point of the title then? Why fight for the belt of a division of you aren't going to defend it?

If "times change" then the champion per division system should have been scrapped

your're right they have changed. You can be an all time great without defending your belt.
If we chop off his legs at the knees he might be able to make 135. Good suggestion.
well what about 170,185 or 205. he only has to weigh 186 for your dreams to be possible.

That statement doesn't mean throw out everything because fuck it. It means if a situation arises that is deemed better than sticking to past precedence's isn't mandated. Seeing if he can become a two division champion is more appealing, more historic, and a better option than repeated a fight that happened less than a year ago and ended in a 13 second knockout. Aldo isn't going anywhere, if McGregor loses then he can go back down and face Aldo again, there isn't some time limit on that fight that it can't wait.

Funny
Somehow he can't be a 2 division champion after he defends the belt. Wonder why the push to get another belt first?

Who said he is an all time great? Regardless, he is well on his way to becoming one. Do you not enjoy watching greatness in sports?

Oh, you were being serious, I thought you were being facetious. Nah, I think he should immediately challenge Miocic for the Heavyweight strap if he loses.

He can defend the belt (you know, what champs do) then go after 155

You're making it sound like it'll be impossible for him to go after another belt if he defends the one he has

You don't world for the UFC. Stop pretending as if you do. You don't make these decisions.

There's no way in hell Conor will vacate or get stripped.

How about defend the belt at 145 then try again at another weight. Stitting on a belt to try to be a 2 divsion champion a year and a half later is lame.
If you think becoming a two division champ is lame, then I bet you hated BJ Penn.

First off, I don't know what the hell you meant in your first post.

Secondly, you have abandoned all arguments. You are posting for the sake of it
