And there is no guarantee you could get a Russian to fight a Brazilian anywhere right now, so why the fuck would you skip over a guaranteed way to put a belt on someone when there is so much that could go wrong with the other ridiculous fight? Just have Aldo or Yan - whoever you want to force the belt on - fight the winner of Sterling/Sandhagen.
