the late frost/snow killed off a lot of Morel mushrooms.

Midwest getting hit hard this year. But they're tough.

Your morel mushrooms, or in general?

I saw a couple of puddles the other day and some black clouds. We go months without rain here sometimes.
my mom farms 500 acres on a river, so they have 'professional' mushroom hunters that they give exclusive permission.
Usually they get a couple of bread bags for themselves and the hunters carry out stacks of sacks. But slim pickins this year.
Fresh Morels, breaded and buttered....OMG.

Any truffles at all in the farming, or do they just pocket those? ;)
Heaven. I love making marsala veal (when I can get it) or chicken with morels and asparagus. Morels and asparagus are the best together.

Not ever had them breaded before.
