that's what people said about Ferguson / Gaethje... except one shot from Francis = decapitationis capable of winning the fight in a multitude of ways the longer it goes on.
Correct.Jones walk around at 240. Like most of the HW division. The entire LHW division is a sham.
Yeah I had a feeling it was wolf tickets by Jonny. It just doesn't make sense unless Francis wins the belt and they make it a super fightCorrect.
Also, this whole thing is a sham. Jones will continue making his money fighting the Jan Blachowiczs of the world. He doesn't need to fight the Ngannous of the world while rubes will pay him to avoid them. He's not scared, he's just not stupid.
More than half the guys in the top 15 do NOT walk around at 240Jones walk around at 240. Like most of the HW division. The entire LHW division is a sham.
The point of the post was that the days of the 300lbs heavyweight cutting to make 265 are long behind us. There's no reason Jones can't fight and win at heavyweight unless it's just that he doesn't believe in his own talents.More than half the guys in the top 15 do NOT walk around at 240
There is a 3rd option. It's not that he doesn't believe he can win at HW, he just knows it is higher risk for an unclear reward. If I was his (purely financially motivated) manager, I would be telling him to fight Jan, rematch Reyes, rematch Santos and then cash out before retirement with a HW fight or two after that. And I'm sure his current manager is telling him that too. It's not like Jones-Francis or Jones-Stipe are 'superfights'. They won't draw significantly more eyeballs than he can get just beating on LHWs.The point of the post was that the days of the 300lbs heavyweight cutting to make 265 are long behind us. You're kind of inadvertently supporting my statement. If Jones had confidence he'd view a move to HW as a pure reward proposition. I mean, I love watching Francis throw those lunch boxes around, but anyone who thinks he has anything outside of a punchers chance of beating Jon is kidding themselves. We also know Dana will let guys move between divisions. If he wants to stay at 205 to beat on LHW's from a purely financial standpoint that's cool, but let's call a spade a spade. He's afraid of that Heavyweight smoke. There is a 3rd option. It's not that he doesn't believe he can win at HW, he just knows it is higher risk for an unclear reward. If the fat shits at heavyweight could cut to 205, they would. But they can't or don't want to.The point of the post was that the days of the 300lbs heavyweight cutting to make 265 are long behind us. I'm as critical of Jones for not going to HW as anyone. I laugh when people call him 'P4P King' as if a HW who doesn't fight at HW isn't literally the antithesis of what P4P means. Only HW truly matters - if you're not the HW champion, you're not a real champion. You're kind of inadvertently supporting my statement. I think if Cormier has the belt he moves up without thinking twice. I also think he knows he gets hit a lot, and the thought of Francis catching him scares the shit out of him.But I have no doubt that if it made financial sense that Jones would fight at HW and likely bulldoze his way through them, just like he did to the actual best current HW, Cormier, at LHW.
Not everyone is looking for the easiest possible fights. If the fat shits at heavyweight could cut to 205, they would. But they can't or don't want to.
No. I remember him fighting Chael Sonnen. Not everyone is looking for the easiest possible fights.
Remember that time he ducked Chael Sonnen? I remember.
So you mean after he had 6 months to prepare for him? After they had to cancel a PPV because:No. I remember him fighting Chael Sonnen.
When he wanted to fight Stipe, wasn't that when he tried to make Dana have 2 non-title contenders fight for a belt?White quoted Jones as telling the president, “I’m not fighting Chael Sonnen with eight days’ notice,” and said Jones’ trainer, Greg Jackson, advised that taking on Sonnen “would be the biggest mistake of” Jones’ life.
never forgetSo you mean after he had 6 months to prepare for him? After they had to cancel a PPV because:

Is that the fight where he got a compound fracture and only won the fight because the ref was probably drunk and didn't notice he was seriously injured? He fought Chael and smoked him.
It's really quite incredible that both Chael Sonnen and Anthony Smith should have been LHW champions. Is that the fight where he got a compound fracture and only won the fight because the ref was probably drunk and didn't notice he was seriously injured?
Santos and Reyes also arguably should have...that is of course debatable depending on your scorecard. It's really quite incredible that both Chael Sonnen and Anthony Smith should have been LHW champions.
You also forgot about his technical submission loss to Vitor that Big John didn't stop because he wanted Jones to get more seriously injured. It's really quite incredible that both Chael Sonnen and Anthony Smith should have been LHW champions.
*Quack Quack*Just like they did with the Stipe fight, the UFC has torpedoed any chance of Jones vs Ngannou smh
