The UFC has updated its COVID-19 protocol heading into its first event in Las Vegas since the pandemic hit the U.S.

Saturday, the promotion is expected to put on UFC on ESPN 9 at the UFC Apex, pending the approval of the event by the Nevada Athletic Commission.

Earlier this month, the UFC hosted three events in an eight-day stretch, starting on May 9 and ending on May 16, in Jacksonville, Fla. – all of which followed the promotion’s first COVID-19 protocol. While many of the elements in the updated policy are the same, there are notable changes in the new protocol, mostly pertaining to self-isolation after testing....

Curious whether this is an internal company PR response to backlash over the way the Jacare situation was handled, a requirement put in place by NSAC or a hint that some fighters, workers or others may have caught COVID in Jacksonville.
