UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley is determined to make a fight against Georges St-Pierre happen. So much so that he says he is willing to jump up to middleweight if needed.

During this weekend’s media scrum at UFC 218, Woodley was asked about the possibility of moving up in weight to cement himself as a pound-for-pound great. “The Chosen One” says St-Pierre is a bigger priority than grabbing that top pound-for-pound spot.

“To be honest, my goal is not really to be pound-for-pound the best fighter in the world,” Woodley said. “That’s Demetrious Johnson’s spot right now. When Jon Jones gets his act together, I think him and DJ would be fighting for that position for a very…

It appears Tyron is confident that he can take GSP.
Off the top of my head, i cant think of the more polite way of saying he is bitching for a money fight, but thats all he is doing.

He was calling out Nate like a day ago. Sure he has bitched for Nick. Now just throwing stuff out there for GSP again after his stomach issue has come out

Would like to see him shut down a 2 dimensional fighter first before he does these call outs.

Would you say he was in a zone of danger?

Perhaps a bitching zone.

He is quite talented at not being in danger zones recently

But fuck, does he bitch.
He just watched Bisping fuck around and hold the title hostage forever, only to be rewarded with the biggest money fight of his life.

What TW doesn't understand is that people cared about the DisCount. The wise among us hate him ;), while some of you are his fans, but almost everyone has a strong opinion. Woodley just makes people turn away in mild distaste and annoyance, and that doesn't sell tickets.

For the love of MMA Gods everywhere, that blessed us with two nights of great fights, please edit your post to make it say “Tyron Woodley” and not “TW”. What has he done to deserve the initials reference? Thats reserved for GSP, JDS, JBJ, and meh DJ. Not fucking Tyron Woodley.

The thing is, no one wants to watch him fight any more. He's the champ and we don't care, he can't make us care anymore, we're fed up with him. Going back to his "win" over Condit, he's gradually but consistently become tiring.
FTR, I think he'd beat GSP with a quickness but he'd win in about 2 minutes or less and that would be it. Even in victory we'd come away feeling cheated of a performance.

He can't handle the riddum. Also fucking lol @going up in weight that's some bullshit. I see GSP getting a decision with versatile striking.

Really? G$P would push his shit in so far that he would taste it for weeks, even with colitis.

Agree to disagree. Woodley is FAST and his game is to read the attack coming in and react quickly. He keeps a big distance and forces his opponent to travel into range (and opponents know this) before they can land their own. He waits and baits, resets and tries to make you regret.
MacDonald was able to use his size to avoid that trap but Georges would have to really fuck with Woodley's distance perception to land anything first (imo).
I hope you are right but Woodley has fucked over the fans too often with his stinkfests to warrant headlining a major card with a major draw without first actually putting on a number of good fights. Even if he won (and I think he would,) he's made it clear he has no intention of risking anything but the minimum, that's his prerogative but I ain't paying for it.

That's the thing about Woodley though, he doesn't bring anything to a PPV.

He needs to leech off other fighters popularity to sell one.

A perfect example of high risk(atleast at putting fans to sleep), low reward.

Same with Covington. That's why he's shooting his mouth off, hoping to get anything, fans, haters, as long as people are watching him.

Don't know about the rest of you, but I honestly couldn't care less.

Champ holds the belt and refuses to defend it against any of the top guys...this site (rightfully) complains.

Champ fights every top guy in his division and calls out the top guys in the division above...this site complains.

Tough crowd.

Too many crappy fights for the amount of talent he has. With the exception of the girl that was just gifted a title, there's not a champ in the UFC that I want to see fight less than him.

And then when you add in all of the talking he does about how he would crush someone and deserves a money fight and calls out everyone with any kind of a name from 155 to 185 just makes him that much more annoying.

Unless he's on a card with a ridiculous main event I won't buy a PPV with him in a featured fight. That's a waste of 25 minutes of cage time.
