Cigarbid.comIs it illegal to ship cigars?
I would've never thought about it, or hesitated about throwing some in a box and shipping.
Let me hit the Googles
You'll typically pay 40% off MSRP.

I'd start with something mild to medium bodied. Perhaps a Macanudo Vintage Maduro 1997 or a Macanudo Hyde Park.Cool, will take a browse.
Any recommendations for a self-admitted cigar newbie? (or momo as @Robbie Hart would say)
All I've found is some murky water....don't have anything definitive about import laws yet. I'm seeing a variety of things said regarding this (and some are several years old, so I don't know what may have changed), here are a few:Yes, but not very often. I do enjoy a good cigar, but they're a pretty substantial time investment. Any idea what your import laws are regarding tobacco down there?

I've been sipping on a brand called 1792 latelyWhat are some bourbons in the 30 to 40 dollar range. I love 4 roses and woodford is nice but I like to have options when wanting something to sip on.
Several of the ones in the OP pic of my bottles are in that range. Buffalo Trace is great, I keep that on had as my "house" bourbon. All 3 of the Weller bottles are in or close to that range. The green (standard bottle) is closer to the $30 end, the Antique 107 (burgundy label) and 12-year (black label) are closer to $40. All 3 are great bourbons, and each unique. The 12-year is one of my all time favorites. Eagle Rare is also in that price range and is excellent. What are some bourbons in the 30 to 40 dollar range. I've had their small batch and it was good. They use more rye than a lot of other bourbons, which not everyone likes. But I enjoy it.I've been skipping on a brand called 1792 lately
The single barrel 4 rose is pretty much a staple in my house. Like i said I am a Beam guy, but after getting home from work or after a night out I like to end it with something bettet.Several of the ones in the OP pic of my bottles are in that range. Which Four Roses do you like? Their single barrel is really good (it's the one in a squarish shaped bottle).
The Michter's that @willthiswork mentioned is also a good choice.
Basil Hayden's is also good. Depending on where you are, it may be slightly over $40
Old Forester is a good choice. It's not one I buy often myself, but I've had it and enjoyed it.
Jefferson's has some great bourbon as well. There standard bottle is within your price point, but moving up there bottles cost more.
Belle Meade is another one I like.
Shit....I could go on and on, but that's what came to me quickly.
What did I do?If you're wanting some basic, easy to drink, bourbons and whiskys to get warmed up with then you can't go wrong with the ones that have good marketing. Knob Creek, Woodford, Bulleit, and Maker's are all in the basic range and are easy drinking booze. Nothing overly interesting about them and nothing bad at all about them. Buffalo Trace is a beautiful house bourbon and fantastic bang for buck on flavor for price.
If you're a nerdy enough drinker that you have a particular flavor profile that you like then we can give more targeted recommendations. I know that I'm not a huge fan of rye because it can lead to a whiskey that is a little sharper than I prefer. A wheated whiskey tends to be a little sweeter to me and that's just downright dangerous because after a couple they go down as easy as @Robbie Hart.
Good post. Totally agree about Buffalo Trace @HEATH VON DOOM you should try that if you haven't previously. If you're wanting some basic, easy to drink, bourbons and whiskys to get warmed up with then you can't go wrong with the ones that have good marketing. My buddy just got into town so we're going to grab some dinner and break into something in the liquor cabinet before we do a little welding.Well....shit.
Anyone else feel like a drink after all this talking?
I've got a bottle in my office of that Willet Rye I keep bragging about....
I'm sure it's 5 o'clock somewhere.
Ever try Knob Creek? What are some bourbons in the 30 to 40 dollar range. I love 4 roses and woodford is nice but I like to have options when wanting something to sip on.
i have a bottle of Woodford Double Oaked that still has a bit left in it.Well....shit.

Had that. It's very good.I've been sipping on a brand called 1792 lately
I haven't tried the double oaked, how's it stack up? Price point?i have a bottle of Woodford Double Oaked that still has a bit left in it.
i'm actually pretty low on bourbon. might make a run tomorrow after work. it's fun shopping for bourbon in Kentucky.
Someday on a road trip with the family or something, I'd like to do a tour de Kentucky to see what I can find. I can't think of a reason I'll ever just be passing through Frankfort, but I'm going to the Buffalo Trace distillery some day. I'll make that happen one way or another.it's fun shopping for bourbon in Kentucky.
It's quite good. Maybe a little sweeter than the normal Woodford. I don't know - I suck at describing taste other than saying I like it. I think i paid close to $50.I haven't tried the double oaked, how's it stack up? Price point?
