I never see it that way. All the time and money they've put into hyping Chandler- If you're the guy who beats him, that doesn't make any of Chandler's previous accomplishments null and void. They still happened, and he's still great. All that happens is that Yamauchi becomes new number one contender, and footage of his win over Chandler is forever added to his highlight feel.

I kind of wish this Avenue had been taken far in advance so it doesn't seem like Rory vs.Lima, the big main event touted for months, is taking a backstage to Chael again.

If these were just fights then I'm in favor of them. If they're in the format of this sham of a heavyweight title tourney then I absolutely hate it.

how come u dont like the tourney style? i could cvare less about the tourney. im basicalluy saying that im excited for whatever 5 fights we get out of it (title and tourney aside)

It's less about the tourney and more about the title.
Half of the fighters aren't heavyweights. Possibly even more important, they're not the best 8 heavyweights that they have.

So as an absolutely tourney to crown Spike TV's Baddest Man on the Planet, which means nothing and implies it's just shits and giggles, then I'm ok with it. But crowning your heavyweight title holder in this exact manner annoys me.

ah ok i hear ya. i always forget about the value yall put on titles. your argument makes sense

i just see fights tho. i could care less what it means in terms of titles or rankings :-/
