Rashad Evans has offered Tyron Woodley some sage advice.

Woodley and UFC president traded barbs recently over the welterweight champion’s comments about a fight between Nate Diaz.

The former light heavyweight champion described himself as “the original Tyron Woodley” and insisted that T-Wood can gain nothing from falling out with White. He urged the welterweight champion to stop publicly acknowledging any differences of opinion he has with the UFC boss.

“Some of the fans might not know this, but I was the original Tyron Woodley as far as my relationship with Dana,” Evans told Ariel Helwani on the latest episode of The MMA Hour.

“I understand where he’s coming from, but he’s going to learn what I learned. It reminds me of something someone told me when I got married, they said, ‘do you want to be right, or do you want to be happy?’ — because if you’re right you’re not going to be happy.

“At this point, he can’t win this because he fights for the UFC. Dana is the president of the UFC, there’s no way he can win this. Feel the way you feel, but you gotta know whenever the conversation comes up that Dana said this — don’t even address it. Don’t go down that road.”

I wish Tito would have fought Trump's #1 Nut-flea (Dana). Would have been entertaining as all getup. Isn't it fun to watch 2 assholes beat the crap out of each other. That's what I call a win/win situation.

Woodley needs to take this advice. He is the champ, but if he loses he isn't getting another shot at the title anytime soon. If he would play nice he may get a bump with fans and an immediate rematch should he lose.

That’s an Uncle Tom thing to say. If more of the champs stood up to Dana he would lose his power. If all the belt holders refused to fight someone else would be put in charge of negotiation.

Disagree with Rashad. The thing that hurts Tyron most is that he doesn't have an exciting style and he doesn't get over with the fans. If you're a money-maker, Dana's going to put up with your shit ALL DAY.

Don't lie down for THE MAN!

Calling Dfw out about arguing is like bitching at water for being wet... fighters need representatives that genuinely have their best interest in hand and not have to bicker with Dana anyways. .You can't ask grown men who settle things in brutal fashion but have to argue with dana about pay or whatever else...get these guys representation

I don't know if the racial aspect was required, but I agree with the general sentiment. As I was reading 'Shad's comments I was thinking "these are the words of a sellout". But what do I know, most of my "sellout" friends have better jobs and nicer homes than I do.

Rashad is right if the UFC is the last stop on your career track, but things don't have to be this way and won't always. Sadly, there's not much comfort in being vindicated by history.

You’re likely right but Uncle Tom is first thing that comes to mind when an older black guy who gave in to a rich white dude who owned his contract starts telling a young black guy who’s being defiant to bow to the white dudes will and know his place if he wants to succeed.

Unfortunately Rashad is right. It does not take a genius to figure out that kissing the bosses ass will get you further. Just ask any of the Hollywood actresses that fucked Weinstein for a role that made them more money for 3 months work than most people make in a lifetime.
