Jon Anik says Nate Diaz and Daniel Cormier are top 5.

Jon Anik: Nate Diaz a top-five UFC pay-per-view draw without Conor McGregor

I think he's right.

Brock and GSP are discarded from this conversation since Brock is suspended and GSP isn't sure if he'll fight again (plus, they're both obvious choices). Ronda's gone. Conor hasn't been active but he's still on the roster and says he'll be back in the cage. He's the no-brainer #1. The question becomes who are 2 through 5? This is a lot tougher question than it was 5 years ago, IMO.

For my money...

1. Conor McGregor
2. Daniel Cormier
3. Nate Diaz
4. Alistair Overeem (stock is dropping)
5. Stipe Miocic

Jose Aldo would have been in that mix a few years ago. Not now.

Isn't this a more of a measured answer than opinion? There must be stats right?

Nate Diaz
Cormier/ Stipe (i think they'll do well when they fight each other, not so much by themselves)
Khabib (cuz of all the Russians and their satellite countries)
Jeremy Stephens? (been KO'ing dudes left and right) maybe???

Seems they are finally willing to put the marketing machine behind Cyborg. She will likely be a POV leader in 2018, assuming she doesn’t piss hot.

It doesn’t seem to me they have any other real big numbers makers now. GSP is always a draw, but he may not fight again. Same with Conor and Diaz. We may never see the biggest 3 starts fight again. Jones will be a draw when he comes back. Not sure if he can stay out of trouble long enough to make the walk though. People don’t seem to love DC or Stiope. Maybe Rose will get a big push if she can defend her belt.

Lol @ the idea of Nate Diaz selling even half a million PPVs if he isn't fighting Conor.

What is the score comprised of, I looked and couldn't find clarification on what it is and how they calculated it. Money? PPV buys?
It was in the first paragraph:
If you're new here, essentially every event is given a score based on the PPV buys, TV viewers, or estimated numbers where they are not available. Each fighter on that show is given a portion of that score based on their position on the card, whether they won or lost and their name value going into the show.

Obviously Conor is number 1. I'm not convinced Nate can do it on his own, so I would be hesitant to include him on a top 5 list.
Do Jon and GSP count....I mean neither is likely to fight in 2018 so I'll say no.

Conor
DC
Holloway.......wow it's a very thin list, maybe Nathan does make it.

I feel Khabib gets on this list by years end, I think he'll have a very big following in a short period of time

I don't think it really matters cause none of them draw anything worth considering anyway.

Conor, Brock & GSP are all in the picture though... & are the only ones capable of drawing anything significant no matter who they fight. Everyone else needs a compelling match up & decent support on the card to even bump the needle a little bit much less "move" the needle.

What is really the question with the rest of them (not named Conor, Brock or GSP...) is what matchups we can make.
Holm & Cyborg aren't that big of a draw individually, but together they pulled close to tree fiddy. In this day, that's become a rarity.

Cyborg vs Nunes might get similar attention to Holm vs. Cyborg since she is an actual threat to Cyborg instead of a gimme fight.

DC is not a draw... but his feud with Jones pulled 800k + twice... I think the Stipe fight will move the needle. They will likely stack the fook out of that card being on international fight week, so that fight should have lots of support. Anything over tree fiddy would be a spectacular feat.

Eagle & El Cucuy are low draws, but their matchup will probably move the needle.

Either Diaz could move the needle if they'd make a deal all ready. Would need an interesting opponent though. There's no telling what Nate can draw after his popularity blew up surrounding Conor. He was all ready fairly hot to hard cores, but now the casuals certainly know who he is. He would need the right opponent though.

That's about it... I don't see a lot of hope for big drawing power outside of those matchups.
