I love being here and waiting for the band but something About being in a seat at a metal gig just doesn’t work for me

I bought a Machine Fucking Head shirt at Download about 8 years ago and didn't even think to pop it on for tonight. Love 36 Crazyfists but wearing their shirt rather than a Machine Head shirt? So fucking absent minded recently. I'd only wear it covered up rather than at the gig, but ffs. Twat.

Well the stars aligned and the 3 bands I wanted to see most at the Bunbury Festival all fell on the same day. Just grabbed my daily ticket to see Black Pistol Fire, Dropkick Murphys and Jack White. That's going to be one hell of a day.

Lineup - Bunbury Music Festival

Also on that day are a bunch of bands I've never heard of:
Post Malone
Coheed and Cambria
Manchester Orchestra
Lecrae
Sir Sly
Two Feet
Lillie Mae
The Commonheart
Remo Drive
Bummers
McLovins

If anyone knows anything about the bands listed above let me know. If they are worth checking out I will plan my day accordingly. This is a huge festival with multiple stages and everything is GA, so you have to pick the correct time to squat your spot at the correct stage. They haven't posted the order yet, so I don't know how much "down time" I'll have between my big 3 - but I'm all about checking out as many bands as I can.

Isn't there a code that you don't wear merch of the band you're there to see?

Nope.
I don't listen to radio. The bands I listen to I find on my own from Spotify suggestions, word of mouth from friends or if I happen to see them when they are opening up for a band and I like their style.

What's their style? Worth checking out?

I don't listen to the radio either. I came across them years ago from someone with similar music tastes.
I thought they had become kind of a big deal.

Claudio's vocals sometimes turn people off the band.
Yeah, he does have a bit of Geddy Lee to him, doesn't he?
Not quite as bad as Geddy - who makes me want to rip the ears off my head - but I can definitely see where his vocals wouldn't be a home run for everyone.

Just got tickets to J Roddy Walston & The Business. Late March.

They put on a great show. Looking forward to it.
Wow. Great f'n show.

A nice surprise was the opening act. The Glorious Sons. They killed it as well. I will definitely be checking out their library. They are from Canada. I know because the lead singer said "We're from Kingston, Ontario" 3 or 4 times during their set. Haha. Plenty of people in the crowd knew their stuff so it's possible I'm the only one in the dark about these guys.

He's also a Buffalo Bills fan and he thanked the entire Cincy crowd for AJ McCarron. LMAO.

***

Anyway - If J Roddy Walston & The Business hit your city, check them out. You won't be disappointed.

You definitely have a fav style, I can see why you weren’t super impressed with Foo Fighters.

I love Foo.
Just not really into arena rock while sitting a mile away anymore.

Probably the only band I'd see that way anymore is Pearl Jam.

John 5's playing my local venue on Thursday so I'll probably pop in. He's played with Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie but he's a really good guitarist so it'll be cool to see him locally.

PHENOMENAL Chicken Pickin' guitarist, has been in numerous Nashville sessions, and has killed on some country tracks, his solo stuff is amazing

Didn't make it to see him in the end, I'm getting Fbook notifications saying how awesome he is though. Dammit.
