The original plan was for Conor to keep both belts "if he could defend them" but he chose not to. Same deal Max is getting. That's a lot of fights per year. At least 3 or 4. If Max can do it then he will be able to. Conor chose not to.

Maybe that was said also. I just remember originally the goal was that Conor would have to defend both. But who knows what Zuffa really intended. I suspect they realized they needed to keep both titles as active as possible. If Max really will fight 4 times per year then they will probably let him.
