I was thinking about this earlier and thought that fighters like Lauzon, Jim Miller, Diego Sanchez, etc have reason to be in the HoF even without title wins

All mentioned prior have had excellent fights and overall careers, but I could understand both views

Thoughts?

All great fighters that had some great moments, but should not be in a real hall of fame. With that said the UFC HOF is not real so yes they should .

I know they revamped the UFC HoF to have individuals as well as individual fights, so I think it'd be appropriate to do so for some of the great fights they've put on

It's a young sport so the threshold to get into the HoF is going to be a lot lower.

Years into the future you'll most likely have to at least have been a champ to get in.

I personally believe there should be strict standards for any HOF. Only the best of the best, the truly elite should make it in, but it so objective that titles, records, rankings over time, etc. need to be considered. All of those guys mentioned are awesome, entertaining, fan-favorite fighters who have had long successful careers, but none of them at any point was champ or recognized widely as the best in their division. It is nothing personal or a knock on them, but each generation has "great" fighters, I just don't think that meets the standard for a HOF. All this being said, the UFC HOF's standard are already well below and far more inconsistent than what I would want to see, so I'll shut up now.

on the fence. I would say if they had a HUGE contribution to the sport. Otherwise...it's a Hall of Fame....or supposed to be

Absolutely they do. You can do incredibly great things and still not win a Title

Dan Marino never won a Superbowl but he is literally one of the greatest quarterbacks
to ever step on the field

If they ever actually do have a “Hall,” there will be journalists, announcers, and other hangers on, so why not savages like Joe Louzan and Diego Sanchez and guys like that? The real question should be is, does Ariel Helwani make it in?

Royce's dumb fuckery with steroids was well after his groundbreaking UFC run, his legacy was already set by then.
Tainted. Same as Anderson. It's just as easy to assume he was using during his run to assume he was clean .

You think that the UFC titles has that much clout? With all the interims, and non defending, and ridiculous low ranked fighters vs champs, you value the titles? Hell this weekend we almost got Khabib vs the usher from section 224 as a main event... Fuck the UFC titles.

If they were an exciting fighter in the sport, and added to the gowth of it, they deserve a spot

He wasn't using steroids during 1996 and the first few UFC's, he decided to use that shit because he was old and trying to stay relevant.... Don't be ridiculous and disrespectful

The most influential thing in UFC history has never held a title but certainly deserves to be in the HOF-Dana White's driveway-

Anyone who shows up to fight like those guys is what we should all love. Maia too, for different reasons.
