Bill Burr's jokes about race are some of the best imo. When he says "when you stop being a slave you don't just walk to the end of the drive way and go 'ah fuck that job'" that's one of my favorite lines in stand up.

Bill Burr relies heavily on profanity to get a reaction from his audience. If he can't get the laugh he hopes for some sort of "OMG!" moment from the people not 7 drinks deep. The riskier the joke the more fucks he surrounds it with. I find that a lot of his jokes are pretty predictable as well. Two thumbs down.

Now a guy like Anthony Jeselnik, that's how you do comedy. Has some of the best deliveries and timing going and is the farthest thing from predictable.

I love Jeselnik, but do you realize that you just accused Bill Burr of being a shock comic but then immediately endorsed a comic who relies more on shock humor?

I am convinced that those of you who are saying that Burr relies on profanity haven't seen much of him. I've watched everything he's ever put out and I thoroughly disagree. His most recent specials haven't been as funny as the older ones, but to say that he relies on profanity and shock kinda makes me think you guys aren't too familiar with his work.

Anthony has a shock value no doubt but it's mainly because he comes up with some super fucked up shit that you don't see coming. Bill does a lot of swearing to drive home a joke from a mile out.

I see the distinction there, and I see your point, but I still disagree regarding Burr leaning on it. He's a dude from Boston. He says a lot of bad words.
