Regardless of how it all plays out, the big winners on every single fight involving Justin Gaethje always seem be the fans. If you ask the fighter aptly called “The Highlight,” that’s what really matters.

While Saturday night ended with a come from behind TKO from Dustin Poirier, Gaethje seems happy he was able to put on yet another fight of the year candidate.

“I didn’t come into this sport to win or lose. It is the entertainment factor for me,” he said. “I will be known and remembered as one of the most entertaining fighters that ever did it. I’m content with what just happened, as stupid and crazy as that sounds. I felt so…

Shit, he keeps taking the abuse he has been (pretty much all his career, but definitely since joining the UFC), he may not make 5 fights before an AC puts him on ice

Smarter than I thought ;):D

Good for him. Bad for us. Kinda stupid, kinda crazy, by his own admission, but
not as stupid and crazy as deliberately being a human punching bag.

Translation: I'm not interested in putting in the work to change things up and will lean on the highlight reel to cement my status as a legend in my own mind.

He talks about wanting to have this social worker life after fighting but he should look up Gary Goodridge's condition, you need a fully functioning brain to do that, I hate to say. Gary also wanted to be as entertaining as possible to the detriment of his health.

Have you ever watched the last samurai? It's about a guy called tom cruise who goes to live with some savages and learn the way of the ninja. Then they all get shot by a gattling gun.

It's a good flick
Savages?..wtf? o_O

I've seen how the story ends when exciting fighters are more concerned with entertaining fans than winning fights.

The story ends that way for almost every single fighter who doesn't try to entertain fans too though.

I've dealt with a lot of social workers professionally (they got me my job at Denny's), and believe me, there's plenty of them doing just fine without fully functioning brains.

Goodridge isnt a good example. He talks openly about having, in his mind, no choice but to take fight after fight to keep food on the table. He abused himself but because he had absolutely no other options.

Everyone has a choice/options. Goodridge had a factory job building trucks up in Ontario, that he gave up to fight. Nothing exciting or glamorous, but I imagine he'd be in a much better position now.

He could have given up the fighting and found a different career, now he's at the point where, in his own words, he wouldn't be able to get a job because he'd forget he had it.

You know what I mean. Some people are unfortunately not blessed with reasoning. He thought he had no options
