A promotion should promote.
I think it's pretty clear she's bringing attention to other fighters that the UFC cuts corners for profit.
While this may not resonate with casuals, it certainly will cause other fighters to reflect on her message, their own situation, and in turn, Project Spearhead.

Not all fighters have the same value.

In the game of Chess, we have expendable pawns & then we have the real players.

Leslie Smith is one of the expendables. She is not entitled to shit.

You're missing the point

She should be in invicta where they would promote her
Unfortunately the ufc only promotes fighters who they feel will generate them money and Leslie is at a point in her career where they feel they won't get any return out of promoting her

It's bullshit but they won't promote somebody pushing for a union unless they absolutely have to
Look at Al, it took the ufc having to be in the worst position ever for them to move him up and promote him. Remember, before the other week Al wasnt even allowed to win bonuses
I fucking hate it because I've had to deal with a similar situation before and it really fucking sucks because you learn how much your employer doesn't care about you and their other employees

I get what sparkuri @sparkuri is saying, that all fighters deserve to get promoted so that they have the opportunity to make as much money as they possibly can but that's not how reality works

Even in other sports, the bigger names get the most promotion because they will bring in more people/buyers

If she wants to get promoted she should go to invicta where she would have a better chance at becoming a bigger name for the promotion

Or go full-time going to fighters and explaining how something like project spearhead could benefit them and trying to get them to join/sign

She will get cut after losing this weekend.

Doubtful. Cutting someone who won her last two with one of them as fotn is not a good look when it's supposedly illegal to retaliate for unionization efforts.

I don't think it's illegal when the person is deemed a contractor, not an employee.

That's what they don't want challenged in court, though.

Anyway, Leslie Smith is a nice lady with lots of fans. Not sure where all the hate is coming from, even if you disagree about what she's complaining about.

I think everyone is their own business and has to find their own way to argue for resources from others in some way. She may not have a long career left; if she wants to speak up and try to get promoted more, that's ok with me - it's not nearly as bad as what some other fighters do to get attention.

Blubba Jenkins @Blubba Jenkins I've noticed your Belvin Flipmunk Twitter account still only has around 300 followers in spite of your relentless spamming of tweets and your attempts to pass off its tweets as "news".

Might be time to try another strategy?

Her point is irrelevant though....her fight is not being broadcast on the televised prelims or main card. There are zero reasons for the UFC to promote her any more than they already are. She is getting the same level as Ladd, Dvalishvili, Simon, Martin, or Nakamura.

Correct. Yushin Okami, too.

There is plenty of precedent. Leslie Smith is not a fraction of the fighter any of those guys are.
I don't think she has to be. UFC cut them because they commanded high salaries but utilized a style that didn't draw as well as they wanted. When they got the chance to get rid they did.

That's what I don't like about the whole UFC fighters are independent contractor bullshit. If that's the case they should have just as much right to end the contract as the UFC does.
