obviously he was out that is what decided the outcome of the fight

No he was not obviously out, Goddard fucked up and guessed he was out, post fight. It was a horrible call. You still can't prove he was out at any time, what kind of shit logic is , the best you and Goddard have is thinking he might have been out.

he looks out to me

Bullshit, that is post fight, you have no responsiblity to prove anything post fight, if the ref stopped it with a second or half a second left, maybe, but the ref never stopped it. That pic tells us nothing, his eyes where open and blinking immediately post fight, I love how you avoid the actual gif and instead resport to posting a still shot from a shit angle.

You and Goddard have done zero to prove he was out, zero.

yes I can. The fight went 15 minutes, the official call was made after the fight was done, with zero proof. You, Goddard and the troll on here still have done zero to prove he was out. You can't, there is no true proof.

Prove he was out, you still have not lol.
The official call is that he was out. This was made by a professional referee who was right there.

It's on you to prove that the referee was wrong and he wasn't out. You didn't do that. You made two claims that only someone who watched little to no MMA would, and you ranted on incoherently with non points.

This is a garbage thread that should be Dumped.

Early stoppage here.

the butterfly was clearly visible on the replay though, so that constitutes incontrovertible visual evidence. In the case of mere unconsciousness, maybe it should be thrown to a 3 or 5 man team of neuroscientists and/or philosophers of mind to make the determination.

As usual you get it.

LOL at saying because he was lying down for a few seconds after the fight was OVER, that he was out. That's just unfair. If I am a fighter and I go 15 minutes, I should be allowed to not just lay down but fucking sleep with my eyes clsoed until the ref forces me up. Once you finish the fight, you finish the fight, its hot trash that Merab has to somehow convince the ref post fight.

This is one of the shittiest calls I have ever seen in MMA.
The fight is over when the referee ends the round. The horn is a signal to the referee.
When the horn sounded, the referee stopped the choke and observed signs of unconsciousness (dilated pupils, ocular fixation) in the fighter.

The ref made the correct call, and the right guy won in the right manner.

And Dvaliri didn't make a big stink about it, neither did his corner. He knew he was out when the choke was released.

Prove he was out, you still have not lol.
The guy in charge of determining if he was out was standing directly over him when Simon released the choke. Even Goddard said he was explaining the situation Buffer, and that the in-ring official had already made the call. Goddard had no input on the call.

So you still can't prove at all how the guy was out, and Goddard made a judgement call. You do realize even fine refs like Goddard fuck up.

So, at the end of the day, you failed on giving any proof he was out.

Too easy, as I figured.

Is this your first day watching MMA, you think official decisions are fool proof. Diego Sanchez was officially given a victory over Gomi, that don't make it so.

Yes he did make a stink about it, the guy was never out. You can't penalize a guy for lying down or not moving from his spot when the fight is over. Plus, there was never any proof he was out. It was a crap move.

There are a lot of things in this world that are unfair within the confines of rules and regulations.
Then there are rare moments when we say:
"In the end, we got it right"

This was one of the moments where we can say "In the end, they got it right".

We should thank the mma gods that on this night, two notable travesties didn't occur.
1) The obvious loser didn't receive brain damage.
2) The obvious winner was handed the victory.

This was a fight where the outcome was so bizarre that many will forget how great the fight was; the talent, toughness & heart displayed.
We shouldn't forget that.
And we should surely demand a rematch as fans because it's so deserved.

But on this particular night, had swords been placed next to each man, and God himself ordered each man to cease fighting and behead his opponent between the 4:30-5:00 minute mark of round 3, it's Simon who'd have been carrying a sword in one hand, and head in the other.

The fight is over when the referee ends the round. The proof is that the referee looked at the down fighter when the choke was released and ruled him TKO'ed. No one goes out from a choke being released. If the choke is released and you're out, you were out before the choke was released. No other "proof" is required. It's not WWE where the hand has to drop three times or some other stupid BS.

You're confusing the sounding of the horn for the end of the fight. The horn is a signal to the referee to stop all blows and release all holds. Simon let go of the choke when the horn sounded, and the ref made the determination that his opponent was unconscious, and ended the fight.

good post but if got gave them swords I think the loser wins that fight...he was dominating early if I remember correctly

rounds of course allowed him to reset himself...but maybe god likes 5 minute rounds....I prefer the 10 minute round personally

proper winner got the win, but I think Ref errors are apparent in this match.

Goddard had nothing to do with the call. So even your premise is wrong.
