Damn thats unfortunate. The kid is fun to watch. But i have a hard time believing they will actually let him go for good. Let's hope its just a strongarm tactic to get him in line. If not he will be in bellator or rizin before long.

Combates will put him to good use with a quickness.

I'm also not opposed to him being cut after a long layoff and turning down fights.

I wish they didn't cut him but I get it and it doesn't surprise me too much.

Front Row Brian is a piece of shit, what does pronunciation have to do with matchmaking? and it's not like Yair is coming off a big win, that fight with Edgar was even more one sided than Edgar's most recent win against Cub Swanson, he should've taken the Magomedsharipov fight.
I just wanted to post Bartek Stachura's Combate idea, but it automatically embeds the tweet that it's responding to.

It's a shame, but if this kid is just ducking guys and refusing to fight, what's the use in having him on the roster and further investing in him?

Frankie absolutely embarrassed him - destroyed him and made like look like a novice. Coming off a loss like that, he should be itching to get back into the cage. If this is his attitude, that he's turning down fights... why keep him?

if no one ever fought fighters ranked below them there wouldn't be any fights at all except those who are joint-ranked.

Rodriguez is an idiot and he will learn that the hard way. Kyle Bochniak's stock rose even in defeat against Magomedsharipov so how can Rodriguez claim his stock wouldn't rise if he actually beat that same opponent? plus the UFC rankings aren't entirely based on beating fighters ranked above you, just winning can lead to you moving up even if it's against short notice opponents that came up from a lower weight class for that one fight.

Yair vs Zabit would have been a great fight. I don't know why Yair thought he was at a level where he could pick and choose his fights like that. He definitely overplayed his hand, shame to see him go but I can't blame Dana for this one.

EDIT : WRONG THREAD

If the fighter is over the 8-percent mark of their target weight, then the UFC would, at minimum, follow that fighters weight cut throughout fight week, including monitoring the fighters vitals. The fighter can also be removed from the bout if it is considered to be too risky if the fighter is allowed to continue cutting weight, which is apparently what happened in Burns’ case.

EDIT : WRONG THREAD

Dern wasn't far off that 8% at the weigh ins let alone fight week.

116 / 100 x 8 = 9.28

Conor McGregor takes any fight they offer him and he's the biggest star in the sport.

Yair hasn't won or drawn shit in this sport and thinks he can cherry pick his opponents.
