UFC 224 wasn’t exactly the the best PPV ever on paper, but it definitely delivered in the cage. It did not, however, mean a whole lot in the rankings. A few new fighters are ranked, and one that was a fixture of the top five at heavyweight is back on the list (albeit much lower than that, for now at least).

One development was that Mackenzie Dern entered the strawweight rankings at 15. Yes, that Mackenzie Dern, the one that came in closer to the flyweight limit than the strawweight one. That’s odd, and it made one fighter pretty angry.

Ah, the rankings. I always thought The Black Beast should be ranked higher as a welterweight. :D

in related news, "Big Country" Roy Nelson is rocketing up the Bellator welterweight ranks, on a collision course with champ Rory "The Red King" McDonald

Angela Hill, I get why she is pissed but she can't even beat Nina Ansaroff and Dern would take her down and dominate her

Mackenzie "Big Rigg" Dern
Pretty decent comparison imo except Johnys power hand is his left and Dern sets up her big shots with fients instead of having the threat of the TD.

One or two more fights and Mackenzie won't need to rush in to sub, the girls will be dropping like flies.

I'm a fan of Mackenzie, I think she has great potential, but this being lazy thing has to end. Either get your head in the game or get out. Her BJJ is hands down the best in her division, and her striking has been improving fight to fight (that overhand shot that dropped Cooper was a thing of beauty), but she's way too young in her MMA career to be pulling the Jon Jones "I didn't train, I basically partied and showed up for this fight" shit.

I still love you Mackenzie, I just don't want to see Dern-weight being a thing.

I can agree with most of this but it's refreshing to see a fighter not place blame on everyone else when she missed weight. I'm sure she's learned a lot from this and will become a better fighter in the long run.

She does get points for owning that.... And if Mackenzie had made weight, this would have just been bravado on her part... "I've been on beaches and in clubs, showed up, and still beat your ass". Or if she had the Chael persona of "yeah I broke the rules, but fuck you, I still won", people would have been more forgiving IMO.

“I can tell you 10,000 excuses, but I really believe that what happened with my weight is way back months ago in my last fight,” Dern said. “I think I need to get my diet right and the fact I was able to do it before, I thought I knew what I was doing."

I know you're mildly retarded so here

TL;DR - She says "I" lots which means she is holding herself responsible for missing weight.
