Retired mixed martial artist Brian Stann, one of the sport's most highly regarded figures in recent years, has accepted an advisory role with the Professional Fighters League.

Stann, 37, will head the PFL's Fighter and Competition/Rules Committee, an advisory board to the league's top executives and investors.

"I'll have influence going forward on how [the PFL] can try to pick up these tournaments, how they treat their athletes, how they recruit their athletes," Stann told ESPN. "It's high-level strategic [advising]. It's, 'Hey, this is what we're thinking. What are your initial thoughts on this?'....

I hear people say that Chael should be the guy to take Dana's role when Dana leaves, if I am WME I would rather have Brian Stann, brings class and respect to the role, NoDoubt

Imo Dana's job is not one either of those guys would want -- they seem to be more involved with their families. Time with his family was one reason Stann didn't want to travel for commentating anymore. I unfortunately think we are more likely to see some WME guy who wants the spotlight taking the job.

Very nice. Pfl doing it right.

Really like their playoff style as well. No interim belts, no Champs who are unactive for years, no bs

I have a major problem with how the PFL doesn't seem to have a plan in place for injury replacements or alternates, which they absolutely will need. I even wrote up a whole system on how to best implement those things, along with 13 different tie breakers for post-season inclusion (I may have taken too much adderall), but that's beside the point.

Stann seems like a good hire, but I'm surprised they don't want him as a commentator, even if it's just part time.

Anyway, kudos to the PFL for having uniforms with sponsor space. I don't even care if the uniforms are kind of plain, they're not taking food out of fighters' mouths while demonstrating that uniforms + sponsors don't have to be mutually exclusive.

He will. He is just checking off boxes right now. He’s in for the long game. In a few years, he will run for Congress, then the Senate, or possibly as a VP running mate. Then, President Stann. It will happen.

Sorry I just saw this
Maybe Shelby for that as well?
If he is a good speaker.
But whomever wouldn't need to be as in front as Dana is

Nah they dont need to be the front face the way Dana has been. But still when major decisions is made they need someone to step out and be that front guy deliviring news. From the beginning i was thinking of Brian Stann but i guess that not possible atm. I think Shelby is a guy thats really good on speaking with u one on one.... but i have a feeling he gets uncomfortable infront of cameras or big crowds of media. So thats a spot needed to be filled in the future.
