That's really not possible. The South can't carry the North's economy as it is. You could let South divert tons of money there in the name of peace like they did during the sunshine policy but it only made sorta nice until the money stopped. Once the money stops the North will see no use to stay in contact. If they truly want to be apart of the global economy, they need the US on board. That's not ever their objective because they don't want to give up their nuclear insurance. They want favorable economic relations by a work around of US demands and stipulations by entering the economy through their neighbours and bypass dealing with US altogether. Who loses most with this whole thing failing is South Korean taxpayers. It was foolish to go through with these talks without pursuing some kind of deals on paper in advance and think public record like media was enough of a persuasion for Kim to take these verbal tentative agreements seriously. That can all fall on the fault of the Moon gov. rather than Trump. Trump just letting Moon try his way by giving peace a chance because you can absolutely be sure North will blame US and Trump for the failures of these talks. This way Trump can say that he gave it a chance and it didn't work.
Interesting insights.
Thoughts on this though?

My thoughts are the same. The reason he isn't blowing up like Trump and cutting everyone off is precisely because he is coming into the talks from a position of power. He doesn't need this talk desperately and it's just a vessel to play up South Korea, China, Japan against the US, for as long as he has worrisome military power, all these states are going to be open to dealing with him in the future beyond the summit. He has what you all want him not to have and he knows he can dangle that like a carrot for decades to come. So while Trump is flipping out and canceling the summit like a little girl, Kim has purposely demonstrated cool and goodwill that he's not flipping out like Trump and he's continuing his verbal goodwill promises by releasing prisoners, and he's closing his test facility and he's still willing to attend the summit if Trump changes his mind. This is exactly what he wanted and it looks like he is the stable one trying to make a deal for peace and Trump looks like the irratic obstacle. That is likely why Trump has flip flop on canceling the summit. That move made wide criticism in Asia and it brings Kim one step closer to painting himself as a reliable keeper of nuclear arms to the Asian public and Trump/US as the unreliable and dishonest obstacle to East Asian peace.

Bush did the same. You either have to work with them or ignore them but taking a hard line with them means you have to go knocking to get them to talk again.

Breaking News, Analysis, Politics, Blogs, News Photos, Video, Tech Reviews - TIME.com

I'm sure it kills him to have to reverse the hard position and talk to them and he would like nothing more than to tell Kim to go kick rocks.

All right is this going to happen???
Is what going to happen, momo?'
There are 2 topics in this thread now:
  • NK & SK playing nice and cooperating more (seems like it, but to what extent... who knows - maybe Banchan know)
  • Trump & Kim playing footsie in Singapore (they will now meet it seems, what if anything will come of it, who knows)
I'm guessing Kim refuses to denuclearize & wants sanctions lifted. Trump says no to everything, storm's off and tweets a shitload of gibberish.

Kim wants talks, talks will happen on his end if US allows them.

Kim will talk about baby steps for big boy dollahs to denuclearization such as some degree of inspections and to slowly move off and shutter yongbyon for alternative forms of energy but not to denuclearize to the extent and timely fashion acceptable for US cooperation.

Everything will fail.

US will allege North Korean weapons parts and ingredients found in various rogue nations used against civilians and or their army.

North Korea and US back to threatening each other. Lots of time and money funneled into this failure.

Dennis Rodman said he hopes the Trump-Kim Jong Un summit is a “success” and is “happy to be part of it” because he “deserves” it.

While responding to a CNN question shortly after his arrival at Singapore airport, Rodman said:

“I’m just happy to be a part of it because I think I deserve it..."

The only thing this is missing is that it makes sense to legitimize a terrorist if you're giving him a chance to stop being a terrorist before you plan to do something about said terrorist. Is that a possibility?? Is he being pressured by Chinese illuminati to make nice?? I can't understand otherwise why this is a good idea for Trump.

Well it looks like Chinese illuminati won. I hope Xi knows what he's doing and it will be prosperous for America.
