according to the actual video it was 1hr & 54 minutes & he needed help walking away
If the video is accurate then he had his 2 hrs & was not that healthy afterwards.
There has been instances, in the past but I cannot remember off-hand
Ya I am not trying to make a case for him...I think giving a fighter extra time to make weight is bullshit personally(should be on weight or not)
IN my perfect world of running a commission/Org.....IF you miss on first attempt then no title fight...and if you are fit to fight then if fighters can agree on contractual penalties let the fight go on...if u can't agree then fight is off.
Honestly, letting a depleted fighter cut more weight is opening you up for lawsuits if shit goes wrong.
He miscalculated(or cheated as some say)Yoel looked like death on 1st attempt...he had already fucked up bad at that moment IMO...the 2 hours only gave him less health/energy on fight night and arguably gave whitaker an advantage...If Yoel gets KOed bad and has perm damage from it then we are talking about a lot of other shit and lawsuits.
But as you know I am anti weight cut/weight classes and even Title belts...so I watch for fights only and I want the guys healthy both in fight and later in life
Belts and weight classes were never my friend
