Rumors that Brock Lesnar would be making yet another UFC return have been circulating for a while now. Dana White has been eager to tell fans and media that the former heavyweight champion and WWE superstar would likely be back sometime late this year. Following UFC 226, it looks like he’s at least half right.

Lesnar took the Octagon by storm following Daniel Cormier’s KO win over Stipe Miocic, dumping on Francis Ngannou’s terrible performance and Miocic’s knockout loss before calling out the newly minted champ. Lesnar is back, and the UFC’s plan is to have him fight Cormier for…

I've mentioned this on here a couple of times already.

Brock waited to enter the testing pool and it will delay the fight unless USADA does him a favor.

There is no favor
He had 6 months & 4 days left to go under USADA & will service it & be tested

Normally there are no favors. But if I remember correctly Brock got a pass on this the last time he fought in the UFC.
Which is exactly why he will get none this time.

Maybe so this time since he did fail a drug test last time. IMG and USADA don't want to look bad twice in a row.

But money is involved and I just don't trust all involved. So I am cautiously optimistic.

This?

UFC senior vice president of athlete health and performance Jeff Novitzky flew to Saskatchewan this weekend to meet with Lesnar to explain the policy, according to Sholler.

There is a provision in the UFC's anti-doping policy that a retired athlete must give USADA four months notice to be entered back into the pool. But that provision can be waived by the UFC in "exceptional circumstances or where the strict application of that rule would be manifestly unfair to an athlete," per Sholler.

"Given Lesnar last competed in UFC on December 30, 2011, long before the UFC Anti-Doping Policy went into effect, for purposes of the Anti-Doping Policy, he is being treated similarly to a new athlete coming into the organization," Sholler said

Unless the fight takes place in March (right up to DC's retirement deadline), it makes me wonder if he'll be able to get in a LHW title defense like he wants. Let's say he fights in November (his hand permitting). March would be his next fight date given a similar amount of rest.

Putting that into perspective seems to provide another reason why he wants the Shogun fight. In addition to Shogun being a legend, it seems like light-work for DC as opposed to someone like Gus.

different circumstances
He retired before USADA was in effect & also passed 6 test before the 2 failures
He was tested 8 times in a month

Very different than a test failure

Lesnar put his name in the USADA pool on 7/3
So 1/8/19 is when he is free to fight again

Of course IF he doesn't pop again

Might as well add this here.
There were rumors that Brock was not going back to WWE to fulfill his last date.
Those rumors picked up steam on Monday when Brock was never mentioned on RAW.

But ...
Brock Lesnar’s next WWE match is set for next month’s SummerSlam event.

Dave Meltzer has confirmed that Lesnar will be back in the ring for WWE’s premiere summer show. It isn’t known who he will face. A five way elimination bout was originally set for Extreme Rules that would have determined the next contender for the Universal title, but that was cancelled. Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley, who were the first two announced for the bout, will instead battle in a singles match.

Lesnar made headlines this past weekend at UFC 226 when he responded to a challenge by new UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. The two got into a brief shoving match before being separated. It was later revealed that Lesnar had returned to USADA testing and would be able to fight starting in January.

Despite the high profile altercation, there was no mention of Lesnar in this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was said that this was a Vince McMahon call as they want to focus on stars that will be at this Sunday’s Extreme Rules event.
