Bout agreements are controlled by AC's so they are all pretty similar.Would be interested to see the promotion agreement - also an agreement for a fighter a little higher up the food chain...can't imagine they all sign something saying zuffa can change the date etc.
In the absence of the promotion agreement, this agreement doesn't really leave room to pull out at all due to change of opponent. Obviously it's not a championship bout agreement, so probably doesn't apply to Ortega. Makes me more curious actually.
That is a separate contract that AC's do not control.Do the ones for fighters earning points include mention of those points, or is that only in the promotion agreement?
I just got done training and then had to come back to work but I’m gonna take a good look at it as soon as I get off.I thought those that never seen one might be interested

It actually looks very similar to my current contract I signed. The printer I used that day kinda sucked but they pretty much go over the same thingsI thought those that never seen one might be interested

No problem. There was a bunch of other pages but that was the main one that goes over the bout.Thank you buddy
So the only things I seen that were different were the tix selling (cue @conor mcgregor nut hugger ) & the insurance. No problem. There was a bunch of other pages but that was the main one that goes over the bout.
No there’s no minimum at all. Some guys don’t have a lot of family in the area and just wanna fight and don’t really sell any. The more you sell, the more commission you get tho. I think it’s 20% but if you sell a certain amount, it gets bumped up to 25%. I usually make $300-$500 from selling tickets alone. Sponsors and other people there can tell how popular you are based on how many people you have there tho so it’s always good to sell as much as you can.So the only things I seen that were different were the tix selling (cue @conor mcgregor nut hugger ) & the insurance.
Obviously UFC does not do tix & their insurance that they provide all contracted fighters cover the bout, so neither is needed.
Q: About tix selling. Is there a minimum you have to sell (you or others?) to be on a card?

I’ve heard of bellator having minimums for local guys when they go to a city and have some local guys fight on it. They have to sell a certain amount or they won’t be able to fight. I’ve never fought for a promotion that does that tho.Thank you
I heard both minimum & non minimum occurs
I wasn't sure of your situation or if it varies at how high on the card you are.
As an up & coming fighter.
How important is the UFC aspect of offering year around injury insurance (to you)?
I know the guaranteed money is a good deal, but is the injury insurance that valuable?

The ufc insurance thing is awesome. I know if I were to get hurt right before this fight and not get paid again I’d be completely screwed after not getting paid for the last one and then ending up with medical bills for this one. It’s huge and it’s something the ufc didn’t have to do st all. People complain and say guys will just pull out of fights more, but the sport is rough, and injuries happen. I’d rather have guys fight healthy, then be forced to fight really hurt because they need the money.
Goodness. It actually looks very similar to my current contract I signed. The printer I used that day kinda sucked but they pretty much go over the same things
Did AC oversee it?Goodness.
That's about as much as I was paid back in my days of fighting on Indian reservations and such.
Our 'contracts' were like 3 sentences long though.
And no opponent name. 'Cos sometimes you fought a dude from the crowd as a "late replacement" .
God bless independent promotions.
Hell no! LOL.Did AC oversee it?
Very interestingHell no! LOL.
AC's have zero jurisdiction over Indian reservations. It was truly 'anything goes'.
And not just reservations; underground fights would happen at secret locations like L.A. night clubs and high school gyms.
This was back when the sport was on the cusp of getting legalized with ACs and certain promotions weren't or didn't want to play ball.
Think back to the King of The Cage heyday era... crazy times. Stars were born then.
