This kid packs a mean punch. Martial arts prodigy Ryusei Imai has idolized Bruce Lee since he was a wee tot. “I’ve watched his movies since I was 1 year old,” the 8-year-old from Japan said. “I’m getting better and better. Now I can imitate his moves along with the movies.”

I worry about kids like this. I wonder what happened to that little
girl that was all over youtube boxing and hitting tree stumps and shit with
her fists

Yeah thats why I was thinking this could be a another prodigy child disaster
or she's gonna wreck all kinds of chicks in the UFC and be the next Joanna Champion

Hard not to be biased cuz she's a girl and view it like she is being pushed too much
by an overzealous dad.

A few years ago LA Times ran an artricle on some girl in kids MMA that got dropped
by a boy in the cage. Of course there was public outrage. What the story negelected
to say was that was one of the few times she got dropped and she was wrecking boys
and taking their souls before that. Lol

I've been trying to figure out when is the best time to get my sons into martial arts. My older son (five year old) did a year plus of once a week karate lessons through his preschool, but I'm hesitant to enroll him in a proper MA school yet. I think he might be better off focusing on soccer, gymnastics and dance now and perhaps saving MA training for later - like age 8 or beyond. I don't know. I do not want him burning out. Not trying to make future fighters here, but I do want them to be passionate about and trained in self defense, for all the reasons we all know.
