Even Dana isn't dumb enough to drop N bombs on mic.

Sure he may call someone a big meanie or a cunt but still manages to have enough awareness to know that it's never going to end well for him if he drops the bomb on a conference call.
Not as aware as this site that censors the F word, but not the other 2 you mention... as per this thread.

sigh, you've been here since the early days. A little search will show you why big meanie is big meanie. It has little do with a word and more to with humor.

Well, it must have been before my time. Silly me to think you were perhaps trying not to offend potential visitors, and members of the gay community like Ted Williams' head @karate chop!, to make them feel more welcome.

This is why when people like me talk about how much racism still exists and we get shooed away and told we are being dramatic, it's stories like this that paint to light how people really are in particular circles.

It's no surprise at all that the same loser who was shitting on the NFL players for protesting against injustice, especially racial, is the same guy throwing the N word around.

Just look like if you go on social media, you will see white people, black people, middle eastern people , spanish people, asian people, all admit that there is still a lot of racism and injustice in this country, yet the people who say it's not and that we are being dramatic are almost always a middle aged white guy who is out of touch with reality, such as the Papa John bastard.

It's the same people who want to focus on how someone proteset and not the content of what they are protesting.
The problem with the racism argument is that it almost always means white people to most people, when clearly some of the most racist people are people of color. Yet they get a pass most of the time.

This past week was the hardest week in my 22 years with Papa John's. I know the words of John Schnatter were offensive, and nothing pains me more than knowing they hurt you. To be clear, those words in no way represent my views or the values of our company. As the leader of Papa John's, I'm sorry.

Racism and insensitive language - no matter the context - will not be tolerated at any level of our company. Period.

Papa John's is not an individual. Papa John's is a pizza company with 120,000 corporate and franchise team members around the world. These are the people in your communities from all walks of life who work hard to provide you with better service and better pizza. These are your local owners and operators who do so much in your community.

Still, you deserve actions, not just words, so here's what we're going to do about it:

  • We're in the process of bringing in outside experts to help audit our company's culture and diversity and inclusion practices. This will allow us to identify our strengths and weaknesses. We will then set clear goals to do better.
  • Our senior management team will be on the road, listening to our employees and franchisees and getting their feedback on a path to move forward.
  • We'll be transparent with you along the way. We want you to hold us accountable.
I will personally be leading this effort because there is nothing more important for Papa John's right now. We want to regain your trust, and we will work hard to earn it. I know this will take time.

The entire team at Papa John's wants to thank you for your loyalty. We are only in business because of you. And it's our sincere wish that we'll continue to have the honor of serving you.

Sincerely,
Steve Ritchie
CEO, Papa John's

I think if you're talking about racism and getting a pass, Asians are a huge offender!

I agree with you 100%. Lauryn HIll is a great singer, but she said some really stupid shit years ago, any type of racism is bullshit. Too much of it going around these days, many ways the country has gone a few steps backwards, not forward. I hope we start marching forward again, Resolute and Meaningful

In their defense, Asians are mostly racist to other Asians. People of other races have no way of knowing if these Asians are being racist or just assholes because all Asians look the same to them.

update I asked them for a coupon and I got a automatic canned response from a robot it sort of made me laugh because it negates the supposed sincerity of the letter. I'm still buying from papas johns because I like the pizza.
