After seven years away from competing in professional combat sports, a true veteran of MMA has returned. But not to the sport he made his name in.

It took 31 wins, 18 losses and 5 draws before Indianapolis’ own Chris ‘Lights Out’ Lytle called it a career in MMA.

Making his professional debut in February 1999 at age 25, Lytle eventually found his way to the UFC, where he spent most of his MMA career, ending it after 20 total fights with the organization.

Anyone who ever watched Lytle compete knew that he was a fighter through and through as he was always looking to put on a show inside the Octagon. But Lytle’s fight career also saw him venture into the boxing ring from 2002 to 2005, where he went 13-1-1 as a professional boxer.

Now, almost a decade after hanging up the gloves, Lytle will be returning to action. The only difference is that this time the gloves won’t be going back on.

He's awesome. Really gives a good glimpse into why the older guys hang around longer than we outsiders would prefer them to.
Really appreciate guys and people like him, he was a true fighter......didn’t give a fuck and was a solid fighter

I don’t like the idea of bare knuckle one little bit, but I always liked Chris. Was he a fireman?
Regardless, I hope he isn’t doing it because he needs the money, Phil Baroni is doing this now too.

Check out the interview! He answers both of those questions.

Still firefighting and has done so for the last 17 years. So it has nothing to do with money.

Mang, I have no idea who you’re talking to as it’s someone in my ignore list....can you tell me the jist of the question without revealing the twat?

Drake @Drake when I clicked that link my adtracker listed 33 different adtrackers it wanted to send to my browser. Is there any way to curb that? Good article on Lytle though. I'm not sure I buy his reasoning, but he's got himself convinced at least, which means he'll be training hard and could give us an entertaining show like he always has.

I like Lytle. Good man. Wasn't he the first UFC fighter before Stipe that was a firefighter full time?

I don't know. Have never heard of such a thing happening. Sorry about that though.

And thanks! Very true. But I believe him. He's always been that kind of guy.

I would imagine so but who knows.
