He’s the worst announcer I’ve ever heard.....I used to listen to phil rizzuto and bill “deep to left” white which plagued me for yeeeeeeaaaars.......but point is I have nothing against Yankees announcers but that guy has no place announcing any team, let alone a Mecca like New York
I challenge you to stream a Reds game with Thom Brennamen announcing. I'm giving 3-1 odds that he talks right through a hard out break to commercial. Happens every game.

You know what I’m saying.....do I have to start pulling a pixalot move and not quote your posts?
You know they are in 1st. They are putting together one of the best seasons of all time. But it won't mean shit if they don't win it all.

Things are getting interesting in the NL Central.
Chicago leads but has been playing .500 ball of late. Brewers are playing .500 ball as well and remain 2 back. But the Cards have made a charge, winning 7 in a row and now find themselves at 4 back. Could be setting up for a 3 team race.

Elsewhere -
NL East - Braves lead the Phillies by 2 games.
NL West - 3 teams in contention. Arizona leads. Colorado has ripped off 4 wins in a row and is 1 back. LA Dodgers continue their skid (lost 5 in a row and 7 of their last 10) and now find themselves 2 games back and in 3rd place.
AL West - Oakland is charging for Houston. Houston has lost 5 in a row, Oakland has won 4 in a row and now find themselves only 1 game back.

Unless there is a complete collapse, The AL East (Boston up 10) and the AL Central (Cleveland up 12.5) are all but wrapped up.

Give or take - about 40 games left in the season.

So after hitting 8 HRs in his last 8 games, including 4 against Miami in the previous 3 games, Ronald Acuna was beaned by Jose Urena on the first pitch of last night's game.

It was a 97.5 mph four seamer thrown right at him. Chest level. Normally a 95 to 96 mph guy, it was the fastest pitch Urena had thrown all season.

I'm good with pitching inside. Part of the game. But intentionally plunking a dude on the first pitch of the game? That's bush league.

Actually, it was the fastest pitch of his 4 year career.

100% intentional.

He should be suspended the rest of the year, plunking people b/c they're kicking your ass is one of the unwritten rules that needs to go. Keith Hernandez had some stupid thoughts about it too, that's the only person I've seen defend it

It's weak. Pitch inside if you want him uneasy. No need to plunk his ass with a 97 mph fastball.

Those 2 teams play again at the end of the month. I'm sure he'll still be suspended, but I'd love to see Urena start one of those games. Have Foltynewicz put one right in his ear hole.

Saw that. I guess they couldn't afford Harper. Just a matter of time now.
Rumor mill was saying that the Dodgers claimed Harper but they couldn't get a deal in place for him.

Who knows? If true, I'm kind of glad that they claimed him and the Yankees didn't have a chance.
