Some images from my first epic of the season. Probably one of the last as well, my lower back was severely compromised after I was dumb enough to let a very tall person practice his spider guard on me. I literally could not walk for 3 days and couldn't walk normally for over a week. I'm officially done with bjj because 5 lower back injuries is just too many. Hopefully biking season will be there when my recovery is complete.

Awesome stuff man, looking good on that Rocky Mountain!! Where was this ride? (I assume somewhere in Poland?)

Take care of that back man, I am all too familiar with back injuries - they are the worst! Heal up and keep shredding!

How are you liking the new ride? Are you using a dropper seatpost? I found that my dropper helps when my back is flaring up, as you can make minor adjustments (i.e. Dropping it just a centimeter or two). Sometimes I change it just enough that it doesn't affect my riding, but can change the position of my body a little to relieve some pressure. Not sure if that makes sense...

Thanks for that.
Yeah that was in the Beskidy region. Lovin the T-bolt, it's perfect for me, it's like a suped-down Altitude, so it lets a rider do a lot of dabbling.
Dropper all the way man , it encourages me to experiment.

Glad you're liking T-bolt. Having a quality bike can make riding so much more fun, especially as you advance in skill. Your bike should be able to handle anything you can throw at it :) . Dropper posts are one of the best recent technological advances in biking. Makes a huge difference, I'd feel weird riding without one now.

I dig the bell too, I've been using one too. It's awesome for letting someone know your coming up in the trail. I have found people react way better the bell than they do when yelling "BIKER!!" (Or whatever else I normally yell to alert someone on the trail).

I'm not sure what back problems you're having, but over the last several years stretching became way more important for me before riding, especially hamstrings and hips. If I don't stretch, my back will tighten upon the trail. Just FYI.

Welcome to the broken old man club haha

Post more pics if you ride anywhere else cool! Good luck getting your back in order, that's an important one to take care of.

It's both funny and kind of impressive you picked that out so quick!
And yes, with the number of people jammed into this country, it's really a necessity.

With things in life that I enjoy, such as women and mountain bikes, I can be selectively observant :D

Edit: I meant to quote your last post @blank

Finally bumping this thread again...you have crankworx coming up soon!

I've been kind of avoiding this thread, I still haven't been able to get back on the bike since the back surgery. Been pretty bummed about it, but I'm getting closer! Getting my fitness back, and I should be hitting the trails soon. I've been off the bike for 6 god damn months, which is the longest I've ever been down from injury. Fucking blows, I'm dying to get back out again. Recovery has been much slower than I had hoped, but finally making bigger strides and the nerves seem to be sorting themselves out now.

Of course it's hot as hell here now, so it is going to be rough getting back in to biking shape :)

Have you and the wife been getting out to ride?
Solid bump :)

I've been out very little, only two real rides so far but I'm planning on getting out it way more. Crankworx is booked so we'll be there Aug 15-19. Last year we did the first week and this year we'll be catching the last week so lots of big events, I can't fucking wait!

I wish I spent some of my younger years growing up in Whistler. One of the best places on planet Earth without a doubt, amazing.

How's it going there bud?

I got back on the bike today for the first time since the back surgery. 9 months out of the saddle, which is by far the longest I've ever been down.

I was huffing, but god damn it felt good!

Dude that's awesome you're getting back since am injury. So far this trip has been fantastic! Lots of riding, bought a new snowboard and bindings and plenty of day drinking. Tomorrow is my last day for riding so I may do top of the world! Pics for reference, it's a black tech decent from the peak and it's gnary as fuck .

Limited daily access so we're hunting for passes.

I’m gearing up for another trip to Moab in a few weeks! I’ve still been having some issues after the back surgery, but I’ve been getting my fitness level up again - so hopefully I don’t get my ass kicked too bad lol

Details are still a bit up in the air, but I should end up with 6 or 7 days on the trails. Going to be a big group, the bike trip is based around one of the dudes birthday. I think we have 13 people in so far.

After taking most of the year off to recover and get my body working again, this is a welcome trip to get some serious saddle time!

Do Eattttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt ! They just closed till next season
Right on man, I'm going to look into the pricing and read through the website more thoroughly. I could probably get a rowdy group together for a trip like that. Some of the dudes have been wanting to do a hut-to-hut trip, but I think Baja would be more fun.

I was injured most of this year, so I'm looking forward to a more active 2019 :D

Yo dudes:

I just got back a couple of days ago from spending a week biking in Moab. Killer time!

I’ve been swamped with work and thanksgiving shit since I got back, but I’ll post some scenery pics soon! We had a killer crew, and for a couple of the rides we had 14 dudes out on the trail!

Great trails, great friends, and some hard partying. Living the good life :D

I’ll get some pics up when I can catch my breath a bit!

I spent most of the year injured, so I didn’t have much to post haha

Killer riding last week, Moab was amazing. I think I put in around 140 miles last week. Big rides every day. I’ve taken the last couple days to recover. Edibles are great for recovery ;)
