Oh it is.....the training and the athleticism speaks for itself...plus if sprinting’s top stars played football or soccer you would see their athleticism transfer over.

Can’t say that about golfers.
Pure speculation. Running is not a sport. Even if you time it.

Is walking a sport?

There is a difference between a sport, and a leisure activity.
One might argue that competitive chess is anything but leisurely and is actually quite rigorous. Just listen to some of the top players talk about the game.

But what would you say is the difference between a sport and a "leisure activity"?

Similar to a high level league of legends player I imagine.

Bobby Fischer did an interview back in the day where he talked about how he would exercise to stay in shape for chess.

The interviewer said that sounded strange and asked him what he meant, and Bobby explained how much stamina it required to play at the championship level.

Here it is. I'd timestamp it but frankly the whole clip is worth watching. It's amazing how normal and even charming he seemed when he was younger, before just losing his mind.

I think that all sports should require athletic activity.
Not all athletic activity is a sport though.

All sports are competition.
Not all competitions are sports.

DWTS isn't a sport because of the means by which participants are selected.
Figure skaters have to pay their dues on the ice.
That doesn't make any sense. It has to be defined by the characteristics of the activity, not selectivity.

Otherwise, you could argue that MLB is a sport, but little league baseball isn't.

Good point. But there's still no comparing DWTS to Figure Skating.
The athleticism and skill required are world's apart.
