UFC lightweight Desmond Green was arrested and jailed Monday on 20 separate charges, including DUI manslaughter, stemming from his alleged role in a car crash last August that left two women dead.

Green, 29, remained in custody as of Wednesday afternoon at the Broward County (Fla.) Main Jail on bonds totaling $194,000, according to online records. A warrant was issued for his arrest on June 19.

A request for comment with Green’s attorney of record wasn’t immediately returned. A UFC spokesperson acknowledged Green’s arrest via text message but did not immediately comment.

Green faces a litany of charges: Two second-degree felony counts of DUI manslaughter; four third-degree felony counts of DUI causing serious bodily injury; third-degree felony posession of cocaine; five misdemeanor counts of DUI property damage; and third-degree felony driving with a suspended license.

He could have fallen asleep behind the wheel though
It's why I want to see his toxicology results.

No one has been charged yet afaik, which means he at least didn't appear intoxicated when he was presumably questioned by FHP officers.

Two weeks before the accident, Green, 28, was cited for driving with a suspended license and no proof of insurance after a fender bender in Deerfield Beach, Fla., that caused less than $1,000 in damage. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Sept. 6.

Green also was pulled over by Fort Lauderdale Police on April 20 for expired registration tags. An officer said “a smell of cannabis emitted from the vehicle” upon contacting Green, who then admitted to having marijuana and “mushrooms” in the vehicle, which were stuffed in his shoe in two separate bags.

Green was cited for the marijuana and expired tags and was ordered to appear in court. When he later failed to appear, a capias warrant was issued for his arrest, but he was able to reverse the order and postpone his appearance until Aug. 30.

Green did not respond to a request for comment.

Toxicology results for Green’s most recent Aug. 19 traffic accident will play a much bigger role than his pending citations, a criminal defense attorney told MMAjunkie.

According to the Sun-Sentinel:

Witnesses told an off-duty Doral police officer who stopped to help at the crash scene that Green was seen throwing a metal object over a concrete highway barrier wall. The object recovered was a metal grinder that had marijuana residue inside, according to Green’s arrest report.

Investigators also recovered a plastic bag of white powder, from the front passenger seat of the damaged Durango, that tested positive for cocaine, the report stated.

Two things,

First, why the fuck would you try to get rid of your weed when there is a bag of blow in your front seat?

Second, kill two people, coke and weed in the vehicle and drunk? He is FUCKED and frankly deserves everything coming to him.
