A guy who had one good win (over a 155 pounder in Cowboy) and an undeserved decision over Wonder Boy.

He shouldn't have been in there with the champ and a very inactive Woodley showed everyone exactly that...

Got a gift against Wonderbread, fought a draw with Nic Dalby. Yes, basically made his name off of beating Cerrone.

I think he had all the skill and mentallity to win this but was just Bested by the experience of the Underrated Woodley.

Till has KO power but has to set up his long rangey punches to land them.

Woodley had Power in every shot.
Especially his Counter Strikes.

Till got caught coming in and ultimately got finished.

I say he deserves it too.

Hes obviously a Middle Weight fighter that looked for the advantage at Welter.

I say he moves up and Proves his "Dominance" against guys his own size.

All those boring fights made me doubt Woodley but damn did he impress me tonight.

Two things are true at once here.

Darren Ngannou wasn't ready obviously but they needed a fight and he was the only logical choice available.

He was ready he made one mistake and also he beat Wonderboy. He was gifted nothing.

GSP will probably fight at lightweight now because of the difficulty of keeping weight on with his health condition

I have to agree %100 with you. Woodley put it on till and made it look rather easy. With that being said i think till still has a bright future. He was just out classed by the superior fighter. Never really cared for Woodley but he showed alot of class after that fight. He gained a fan in me for sure and i hope he beats the living shit outta Covington!!! Just tired of his mouth. It might be different if he was even a little bit clever but you know damn well he is rehearsing his trash talk in front of his mirror every night

I'm really not surprised how that went. Till is long and very skilled at striking.
The issue is when you are long and that skilled you love to lean your head back
and pull and slip punches instead of putting your hands up.

Till got caught coming in but I think with Woodley's speed he was gonna
catch him either coming or going one way or the other

Good post. I always root against Woodley. He’s very talented, i just hate when he opens his mouth and i think he has bitched way too much. That being said, i really like the way he handled his post fight interviews. He was all class and respectful and realistic about GSP. Not ready to call myself a fan, but i do hope he punches a hole in Colby.

There was no chess game, Till landed two shots total.

Imo Till would serve better as a fast long MW over a drained powerful WW. He could fight like Gus and have great success.

till was trying to play the chess game IMO

he should have just thrown a few heavy strikes, instead he paced himself and failed to get off

that was my point

and I do agree he would be good as a MW

Ya in his post fight he said as much. Wanted to weather the storm basically until the third or fourth then pressure him. This came down to Woodley having more tools to use and Till relying solely on a few big shots.

Woodley was too much for Till, people bought the hype too early just like Ngannou / Miocic

C'mon now, Woodley trains under Dean Lister, Ben Askren, Duke Roufus, who does Till train with?

They could have cross promoted and had him fight the best welterweight in the world.

I disagree with the MW statement (though I don't feel anyone ahould be allowed to cut). His best fight was against a 155lbs. guy in Cowboy. I think he gets eaten alive at 185...

Khabib is a much easier fight for GSP
You think so?

I got Khabib absolutely mauling McGregor.

A fight with George -- GSP would have a good striking advantage -- but we saw in the Bisping fight his cardio was shot going into the round he finished Bisping.

Age/Weight Cut both would hurt GSP cardio -- that's where I see him fading against Khabib.

I'd say early GSP has no issues in the wrestling takedown defense - he'd do good striking in the 1st and 2nd ...but after that I see the tides turning with Khabib taking over and eventually gassing out GSP till he gives up his neck or submits to strikes on the ground.

The top 3-5 guys no doubt but if he moved up I'd assume he'd get on a program that would allow him to be at his peak performance. His timing would be great too. Guys like Weidman, Souza, Brunson, Branch and Yoel are going to be tappergin off any fight now (all around 35-40 years old) so he could work his way up then get some good names on his resume. Guys like Kelvin, who moved up, Costa and Isreal are probably the future of the division whether they be trip 5 rotation or champs. If Till added some size to fill in he'd be competitive.

I see GSP jabbing him to death Koschek style. I think because of the strength of his striking he can even take down Khabib when Khabib covers up. I think GSP beats Conor easily too (side mount dropping elbows) but at least Conor has a striker’s chance. Khabib is in my opinion no danger to GSP. Sure I could see him getting a takedown and hanging on to control to win a round but I don’t see him being strong enough to damage GSP on the ground.
