Was there ever a determination made in his accident as to the cause? Negligence, suicide attempt, railroad warning lights not working, etc?

Sad yes, but considering what he went through I'd say he probably feels lucky to be alive, and grateful that his mental facilities are that together. He still has his arms and legs. His truck was hit by a train- I don't know what the chances are for walking away from something like that, but they can't be great.

Someone close to him (I forget who) said that he was trying to get by the train because it was long and he didn’t want to wait but when he floored his truck the wheels spun out in the gravel which threw his timing off and he got hit.

As someone who grew up around loose gravel train tracks in the country, trying to beat the train seems to be either be a ridiculously stupid idea on his part, a suicide attempt or maybe he was looking for that rush of his life being on the line that he used to feel in the cage.

Dana said that Matt doesn't recall what happened which is believable. Since it was just Matt there I doubt we'll ever know.

Sad.

Hate to speculate but I still have my doubts about his accident.

A train is avoidable..

I wonder if it might have been an intentional attempt.

Maybe a side effect of CTE..

Like I said I hate to think about that and i only wish the best for him.

Just wonder if thats ever been brought to attentions so it could be managed.

Hope he gets better still.

Look at the bright side - by all rights he should be in a coffin right now.

The fact that he can walk around on his own power and still verbally communicate is something for him to be very thankful for.

I don't feel bad a little bit because of how he would torture animals.

I saw that the other day, I didn't realize it was that bad for Matt. I mean, it makes sense considering he got smashed by a train, but they've done a good job keeping the details quiet. He also walks with a limp, but I don't know if that's from physical damage or neurological damage.
