A friend of mine was in DC for his daughter's soccer game when the Kavanaugh madness was going on. He was watching CNN and was a little concerned about heading into the area due to all the protests, but he ended up going down there and seeing what it was all about.

He isn't a political guy, but he said it was amazing to watch. He said media outnumbered the "protesters" 3:1

For the majority of the time they were there it was quiet and calm. The "protestors" were just sitting around bullshitting with each other. But then a guy from the media side would talk to someone from the "protester" side, and the protest organizer would head over to the group of 30 or so people who were sitting around and he'd select the amount of people they needed for the next live shot. For the next 3 minutes it would be complete chaos in the area they were filming at with people screaming and chanting. Then the shot would end, and all the protesters calmly walked back over to their area.

He said it was like he was watching a movie being filmed. Which, in a way, I guess he was.
What irks me is when I see the media getting indignant and acting like victims in the face of any criticism. Particularly CNN, who seem to think they're completely above reproach and we should take all their coverage as gospel, lest be labelled as being against free press.

The media need to be held accountable, just as Trump and any other politician should be. When the #1 objective is to boost ratings, reality can often take a backseat.

That's pretty accurate for most of the protests that happen there. The scheduled ones that are fully permitted and lead to road closures, and there are a shit ton of them, are the ones you need to watch out for.

But any given day of the week you'll find a decent sized group of people picketing something and unless it's a topic that the media deems newsworthy they're always under control and just kind of mill about like cattle.

Haha. That's gold.

My wife received one of those from the DNC over the weekend. They addressed her with the wrong name, so my guess is someone gave the DNC a fake phone number. She showed it to me and I responded "Congrats! I was on the fence for a few of these candidates, but your annoying, aggressive text has convinced me to vote Red straight down the ballot."

And even though I'm not a huge Trump fan, I sent them this pic:

They didn't respond.

5000 troops sent to the Mexican border to stop the migrant caravan. Unless the plan is to shoot people I'm thinking this will not stop the caravan. They didn't walk across Mexico to walk back home.

They’ll be loaded up and sent back to wherever they came from. If force is required to detain them, it will very likely be used. Trump isn’t fucking around with this one.

My life...

Hi Thomas, this is Sharon volunteering w/ Beto for Texas. Beto O'Rourke is running a grassroots campaign for Senate with a focus on getting corporations, PACs, and special interests out of Congress and putting our democracy back into the hands of people. Can we count on your vote?

No.

Hi Deborah it's Tara at Greenpeace. Please sign a petition asking corporations to end plastic pollution by texting YES to this number.

Go away Tara.

Hi, its Devin Nunes. The radical left continues to attack conservatives and their family. I've had first-hand experience. Help us fight back: nunesforca.com

Dammit Dev.

Hi, this is Carol volunteering w/ Beto O'Rourke's campaign for U.S. Senate. The election is coming up in November and we're texting Texas voters to see who they plan on voting for. Will you be voting for Beto O'Rourke or Ted Cruz?

Cruz if you ever message me again...

Hi, this is Beth w/ Beto for Texas. Early voting starts TODAY & we're fired up to vote! You can early vote through 11/2 & based on public records, we think you're registered to vote in Harris county. Check here for where to early vote: betofortexas.com/vote When will you vote?

I finally broke...
because you guys keep spamming me I will be sure to vote against Beto and I will ask as many people to join me as possible. what a completely counterproductive campaign tactic... Filling my phone with unsolicited messages and my email inbox with the same fluff.I now read the headlines that you are being sued for this tactic. I hope they win. I will always vote against Beto and hope his chances diminish every election local or Statewide.

lol@ the thought of someone not finding out Trump, who has 55.5 million followers and news channels dedicated to his every move 24/7, was bad mouthing them because he didn't @ mention them.

It's hilarious watching libs grasp on to straws as their side continues to drown
Gillum is ahead in the polls

I get so many things in regards to voting for the local Republicans that it's absolutely crazy.

Likewise, the Libertarian party blows my phone up with texts.

Absolutely drives me insane.

I don't get many things for Democrats which is kind of weird as I've supported more of them in recent years than I have Republicans.
