I’ve killed dozens of rattlers, see them all the time at work. I prefer a shovel if they’re on the ground, but we are often encountering them in caves. No shotguns down there lol. Gotta get creative in confined spaces...I’ve got some stories I’ve gathered over the years. Hate those buggers. The squirming shit is so weird. I’ve seen a headless rattler squirm for hours.Ya I usually use shovel on Rattlers
but if they get in a tough spot I use 20 gauge
body squirms for up to an hour even without a head

And for the record, if they can be left alone and aren’t bothering anyone I don’t kill them. Unfortunately that isn’t the case very often in caves. I think they feel cornered or something because they tend to be aggressive when we see them down there. Thank goodness for the cold snap, slows them rattlers down.
Yeah man, I know two dudes that have been bit. It’s brutal, the venom causes serious damage to tissues/muscle. I’ve been struck at, but never tagged. Keeping my fingers crossed! It’s caving season for us at work, saw two big boys a couple weeks ago. They like it down in the caves, especially when it’s cold. It’s warmer down there, plus there are rodents, frogs, etc down there for them to eat. Easy living! They are creeping on my folks place
I only kill em if they are in proximity of their buildings
I like snakes in general, but venom bites are pretty brutal

Where we are working we have been told that within every ten square meters there is either a Taipan/Death Adder or Brown snake... Watch where you walk.
Can't imagine just walking through some grass and coming across one of these bastards
