Rousey vs Holm

Tate keeps getting drubbed, hasn't hurt her career.
Tate is marketable, puts on good fights, hot as shit. Holms hasn't impressed.
I know I'm in the minority, but I'm not at all sold on her looks. She does put on good fights but it's when they aren't for the belt, and if that's the case I'm not really interested in seeing her.
I saw this on instagram and flew here. I had a sneaking suspicion something like this would go down. Holly has pretty much zero chance unless she catches her fast on the feet. Any word on what happened or who Tate will face? Borg maybe?

Holm is ranked 9th in that division.
Do you guys know of any other title fights where the contender is ranked 9th (at the time) or even out of the top 10? I ask that seriously, not to be facetious or condescending.
I wish Holm would have gotten a couple more fights before challenging. With such a shallow division, there just isn't' time to let these girls mature and grow into a contender you really want to see fight for the title.

Bethe Correia was ranked #9 when she fought Rousey.... Carmouche, Davis, & McMann were ranked between 5-7 when they fought.... Tate (in the UFC) after TUF was ranked #2 (after her loss to Zingano)... And Cat was ranked #1
Not hating on Rousey, but she has only fought technically one #1 ranked fighter in her UFC run..... Now that's not on her if the UFC doesn't have top opponents, the woman's BW division is thin... But selling her as "the greatest ever" when she's beating low ranked opponents is ridiculous.
I'd rather see her fight Zingano again.... Everyone (Ronda included) knows that it was a freak victory (kudos to Ronda for capitalizing on Cat's mistake)... Ronda herself said that against Cat 100 more times, that would never happen like that again....... If the UFC is selling Werdum vs Velasquez 2 to us.... Than I'd rather see Zingano vs Rousey 2, instead of Rousey vs "another opponent who is ranked on the bottom end of the top 10 and who has never fought a top ranked opponent". Holm should fight Nunes, or Tate first.

Holms transition to mma has looked stiff, shes a quintessential example of boxer->mma, and it hasn't looked good. yet. and maybe never. but... there's a maybe.
we can skip most discussion about RR, what she's good at, where she can flatten most opponents: walk forward, hand trap to clich, and it's really over by then. And simply, intimidation factor. Most of her fights are won before she steps in the cage.
What she hasn't faced is an actually good boxer. Tate is the closest we've seen to a "quality striker", and given us her longest fight(s). (McMann actually takes second, but its... 3 secs longer than Tates shorter fight? aaanyway) ((I am totally not a stats person, I am just guessing here, but I'll go look that up, so I don't look like as asshole...)) {{ Sorry, it was Carmouche}}
Holm has that toolset. A distance fighter, a bit (hehe
) reluctant to engage in the clinch, and most importantly, can work angles. At least potentially. This has been a key that Tate used, along with a jab, to disrupt RRs "catch and kill" successful strategy. Because, if we're being honest, RRs standup is... "not great". Yeah, she KO'ed Bethe, but it wasn't pretty, and the intimidation factor was a big part of it. (Do you see the look of fear on Bethes face as she was backing up? Again, that fight was over before it started.)
I have high hopes for Holm, I tend to think that a basic boxing skillset is often anemic in mma fighters, and it could really serve her well if she rounds out that skillset, but she is no where near ready to be fighting RR, sadly.

wow, I was looking forward to the Tate scrap, only because she's one tough cookie and would of taken Ronda past Rd 1 again. Holly Holm? She'll be armbarred within 45 seconds. Thrown the wolves.

I think she still qualifies as best ever. There are two routes to getting there. You can fight a bunch of rematches if #2-4 are people you already beat or you can clean out the division. Rousey is doing the latter. Neither Meisha or Cat have shown any vast technical improvement to make me expect a different result.
Fedor became #1 HW the same way, capturing the lineal title, beating the consensus #2 twice (Nog), clearing the division and then facing the consensus #3 in Cro Cop.
