I’m listening to a podcast on pain, and it got me thinking about in fight injuries. When I was a kid, I saw a guy get his shoulder seperated in a judo tournament. That was disgusting. The first bad mma injuries I think of are Anderson Silva and Cory Hill’s (RIP) legs.

Anderson's was horrible but Corey Hill was worse because he tried to stand and move after the break. I thought I was going to puke.

First brutal one I remember was a King of the cage or something.
Some blue haired punk heel hooked another kid and snapped his ankle.
Then got up and celebrated disrespectfully.
Sounded like snapping carrots, I forget the show.
20 years ago or so.

I was once in Liverpool, caged gladiator i think. two fighters clinch, throwing knees. one lands hard, sounded like he hit the bloke directly in the groin-guard. imagine that sound, when people land hard on the cup, like that only absolute full volume.

I thought it was an evil low blow, as the guy writhed in agony. turns out the sound was the guy's PELVIS snapping in two. that was unimaginably horrible.

I was in the arena for the low-blow that Gonzaga landed on Chris Tuchsherer.
Holy Shit that was hard to watch.
