The ignore button

Just a quick reminder to members about our ignore option. If you find yourself not liking a specific members posts/opinions its a good feature to avoid unnecessary bickering or arguements that are sure to end poorly.

To use this function you can click on a members icon and when the profile window pops up you'll see "ignore" in the bottom right. Just click on it and watch your future headaches fade into obscurity.

Personly I'd like to see this option taken over post after post of elevating drama which ends in personal attacks, not the culture we want here at all. Also the report button is a good way to keep staff here up to date on anything we haven't seen yet.

I haven't tried this ignore feature yet, it's tempting but there are many posters here that though I disagree with on some things, they do contribute some good posts.

I definitely wish I could ignore half my Facebook friends but the drama would be nuclear. so I just don't bother using it much. I wouldn't shed a tear if Facebook just imploded and fell off the face of the web.

After being on the other place for almost 5 years and having rapidly mounting unchecked trolling, thread spamming where it's only slurs, one line responses with no points and just insults blind support or hatred etc.

Ignore button is the only thing left of value. Sometimes leaving the house is the only place the yappy dog stops yapping.

It's an excellent feature. I've utilized it myself for a few people but have since removed them from the ignore list.

Admin/mods are imune to the ignore option. Only 5 of us so if one of us are getting unbearable then you'll have to accept it.....

it takes a pretty stupid person for me to use a feature like that.
so far, the members here are generally congenial, and willing to argue points, instead of arguing people.
but it's a great feature regardless. thanks for providing it.

I was subsequently lambasted for not responding to his invisible questions.

This and the unwatch thread feature is a membership savior. We can ignore mods because I've done so. Wish we could ignore admins as well, if only their responses to a thread not pm or direct @'s. I dislike having to ignore an entire thread just because of admin comments. It's a real bummer.

Ignore is for cowards.

But if someone is abusing you, better to use it than leave.
