When issues with a Jon Jones drug test led the UFC to move their UFC 232 event from Nevada to California on less than a week of notice, things were thrown into chaos. Tickets don’t go on sale until three days before the event. Some fighters found out about the move by reading the news on the internet instead of being properly informed by the promotion. And there’s the obvious logistical issues for fighters and fans.

But one thing had flown under the radar for the most part, until UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes pointed it out on social media - fighting in California as opposed to Nevada means the fighters will have to pay more income tax.

Well...…

No one gives two shits about WMMA anyway.......
Lol she should be happy Bones and GUS are carrying this card for her.
She's getting free ppv points as a champ, it's not like she draws the same amount as bones and gus.

her division is also less exciting compared to 115 and 125 due to her dominance. a 105 womens division would probably do better than 135 due to the sexy fighters at that weight.

most of the hot 115 lb fighters people associate with with 115 are really 105 lbrs it is a deeper talent pool lookswise than 135 as it reflects the size of the average woman walking around 120-130 lbs.

Yep. She'll make a lot more even after taxes since Nevada wasn't going to allow Bones to fight. Without that fight they'd be lucky to sell 200k PPVs especially since it will be going head to head with the Alabama/Oklahoma bowl game.

She should be grateful she's fighting period, much less fighting on a card Jones will carry for her.

Jon's last PPV did over 800k buys. Nunes's headliner against Raquel Pennington did like 100k. Jon is going to change Amanda's bum life with the PPV points she's about to receive.

That being said, I think the UFC should give every fighter a bonus equal to whatever the fighters are paying in taxes, as they signed to fight in Vegas and were only told of the change to California when it was too late to decline.

I really hope we start to hear that the UFC is taking care of the rest of the people on the card, and I wish there was a way they could at least make it up to the fans who were travelling. Give them a free tour of the PI to meet fighters or some shit.
