It was expected that WWE-UFC superstar Brock Lesnar would return to the Octagon to challenge Daniel Cormier for the heavyweight title sometime in the new year. The wrestling powerhouse underwent USADA’s drug testing program and was tested five times in 2018. Lesnar is eligible to return to competition no earlier than Jan. 8 2019, but the former UFC heavyweight champion has one last obstacle to clear before he makes the walk to the cage.

Lesnar will not be able to challenge Cormier, at least not in Las Vegas, until he pays $250,000 to the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Lesnar was hit with a whopping quarter-million-dollar fine and 12-month suspension after he tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs in 2016. His UFC 200 win over Mark Hunt was overturned to a No Contest…

My gut is telling me this fight isn't going to happen, and DC rematches Stipe next.

There is no reason to pay a fine until the last moment. 250k earns some sweet interest.

Once he knows for sure he can pass the piss test then he will pay. Why pay before hand if he can’t fight

The Nevada State Athletic Commission owes Lesnar $250,000 and an apology, since the test failure was clearly just a trace amount due to pulsing. Apparently Lesnar inadvertently was in the same city as PEDs at some point early in his career, and that caused one picogram to show up in his system, which will continue giving false positives on his USADA tests until the end of time. He's clean, and just a victim of advanced testing thresholds.

brock lesnar is worth like 30 million dollars and will make at least a million for this fight that 250 k is not even a problem or obstacle.

Probably more like 5-7 mil for this fight. Crazy.

I do wonder if he fights again though, it would make sense financially but since Roman Reigns got sick or whatever, Vince is paying Brock big $ to stick around so it may throw a wrench in things.

Also, who knows if he will pass the tests. Then again, the UFC has proven they're more than willing to help Brock get around that.
