Is Anthony Pettis headed to 170 lbs? ‘Pretty’ Tony has spent the last four years of his career in a rut of inconsistency, ever since losing his UFC lightweight title to Rafael dos Anjos in March of 2015. From that point, he’s gone 3-5 including a brief drop down to featherweight, and losses to Max Holloway, Dustin Poirier, and – just this last October – Tony Ferguson.

That stretch hasn’t been without its successes, however. Pettis’ win over Michael Chiesa had him looking very much in the kind of championship form that saw him take the UFC title from Benson Henderson in 2013. But, finding those performances from…

Wonderboy happy to accept Pettis’ welterweight call-out: ‘We both got highlight reels, let’s do it’

On a tangent: The UFC really is dropping the ball with Wonderboy. This dude could be a Peyton Manning kind of superstar (and not in the losing in the playoffs all the time way). Dana has no fucking clue how to promote someone who isn't his butt-buddy or the Champ. He'd rather spend his time attacking TWood because he's not the kind of champ he wants instead of pumping up a legit, exciting star like WB...

Depends which Pettis shows up. He would really have to put pressure on Wonderboy. Close the distance. Like Cain level pressure.

Smart by Wonderboy. He's just treading water until someone beats Woodley, so makes sense to just take easy fights.

What happened to Pettis? USADA or what? He goes from jumping flying one leg kicking people like a Jackie Chan film to going down a weight class to going up a weight class.

What a shame

Good question as he was dangerous as shit but he’s less dangerous early on in fights.....he seems to get bullied and if he can’t weather the bullying he’s seems to wilt

I know there are all sorts of USADA possibilities with fighters dropping off but then I think about how absurdly HARD these guys have to train for a fight and I think that if you don't really love it more than anything in the world it gets real hard to do that shit and if you drop off a little mentally like that or your life priorities change (and not necessarily in a bad way - people just change sometimes) you can just fall off a cliff...

Yeah, tough to argue with the mental drop off or maybe since he was sponsored by peanut butter captain crunch, maybe he invested his money wisely and the edge is gone

I think it's a good move in that the take-down threat will be extremely low.
