My life is both a comedy and a drama, so I watch action movies to escape.

I'll mention some I don't think were mentioned yet:

The Yakuza (1974) - great story, great iconic performances from Takakura Ken and Robert Mitchum (at his sardonic best) - one of my favorite movies

The Mechanic (1972) - underrated Charles Bronson film

Killer Elite (1975) Directed by "Bloody" Sam Peckinpah (too bad The Wild Bunch is 1969)

Superman (1978) - comics geeks as well as any moviegoer saw this and believed Man can fly

Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) - this along with Star Wars were huge for SF movies (science fiction)

Off the top of my head and i don't recall seeing these mentioned from H'wood movies -- i didn't even start on HK movies lol

1970's Hong Kong movies

The Way of the Dragon (1972)

This may be sacrilege, i think this is better than Enter the Dragon!

Heroes of the East (1978) aka Shaolin vs Ninja aka Shaolin Challenges Ninja

My most favorite Martial Arts movie - yes IMO even better than 36th Chamber of Shaolin aka Master Killer and Five Deadly Venoms - directed by the great Lau Kau Leung, no one dies in this, it was a big misunderstanding, showcased many many styles using the plot device of Chinese MA vs Japanese MA

Invincible Shaolin (1978) aka Unbeatable Dragon - my most fave "5 venoms" movie

Great training sequences featuring real CMA like WCK and Southern Praying Mantis - Lo Meng aka Lo Mang was a student of Chu Gar SPM - Lo Meng is better known as 'Toad'

I guess these can/should be mentioned in the martial arts movies thread

Now a list that matters....

1972
"A woman with an unusual birth defect comes to a doctor who has an unorthodox solution to make the best of her situation."
Doctor: "Oh, that's amazing...It's truly amazing. Miss Lovelace, you don't have one."
Linda: "You cluck. I'm a woman. I'm not supposed to have one."
Doctor: "No, I don't mean one of those. I mean, well you, you don't have a clitoris. There's no clitoris here."
Linda: "Are you sure?"
Doctor: "Of course I'm sure. Here, take a look."
Linda: "Well, I'll be damned."
Doctor: "Hmm, no wonder you hear no bells. You have no tinkler."
Linda: "That's, that's not funny."
Doctor: "Oh, now, now, Miss Lovelace, please. Try to, try to compose yourself, really. Tell me something. When you get laid, that is, when you have sexual intercourse, uh, what excites you the most?"

I found it a tale with many twists and turns that kept me and my company on the edge of our seats in anticipation. The range of emotions this movie instills is truly amazing.

1973
"Miss Jones is tired of her life and commits suicide. She comes to a place where its decided if she will end up in Heaven or Hell. Because of her suicide she should go to Hell but she has the option to return to Earth and live life according to one of the mortal sins for some time. She picks lust and a few days of carnal pleasure follows."

Talk about predictable...If it wasn't for the solid acting and sound track I would've turned it off 7/8s of the way through but its still a solid pick compared to the Prize horse list.

1978
"Debbie gets a spot on the roster of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, which is referenced only as "Texas" throughout the movie. The only problem is that Debbie doesn't have enough money to get there on her own, and her mom doesn't want to help her, so her friends decide to help her out, and they all get small jobs around town to raise money. One day, Debbie is approached by her boss, Mr. Greenfeld, who first offers $10 to see her breasts, another $10 to touch them, and finally another $10 to suckle them. She realizes that they can get more money by performing sexual favors. She finally gets to go when Mr. Greenfeld offers to pay for everything if Debbie helps him reliza his fantasy and let him "score a touchdown".

This is an old movie but still sends the positive message to young women that their goals can be reached if they are willing to put in the time and effort. I'd classify it under self help/business.

1972
"A wealthy San Francisco socialite, Gloria Saunders (Chambers), is taken against her will to an elite North Beach sex club and loved "as she's never been loved before." There she engages in lesbian sex with a group of six women, for some reason all dressed in black, before being brought out wearing a white dress on stage through the green door."

This movie not only was Marilyn's porn debut but the movie also set precedent possibly being the first of its kind to promote interracial sex. Between that and the female sex star having zero dialog I feel there's some good lessons to be learned by all viewing this gem.

1972
"Released in two versions, the longer hard-core version was 91 minutes, while the soft-core version was only 84 minutes. The film was one of the first feature-length porn films about bisexual swinging, with the tagline: "...Experience the Possibilities."According to the narrator's voice-over, the action was set in a seaside villa in a fictional European village: "In the village of Leisure, in the land of Play, deep within the erogenous zone." Part of the sex included taking drugs and dressing up in costumes: a sailor outfit, a negligee, a nun's habit, and a cowboy costume. The sex farce told about a liberated and hedonistic married couple who enjoyed the swinger lifestyle"

Sex, drugs, bi-sexual scenes, costumes, swingers, natural women and a narrators voice over as a bonus....Order your Blu-ray version here.
Score Blu-ray: Uncut & uncensored

Are you in a new Jersey Starbucks, per chance?
To touch on this, I work on a closed site, it's only accessible by a pass. There is a Starbucks tho, it's conveniently located at the white collar part of site. Sometimes I go there with my workmate and just want to punch every cunt in line in the face for being fucking idiots and designing shit that is bad.

I'm gonna touch on a brief thing, over the past week I have wasted 10 hours of my life looking into a fault, my underling has too, 4 specialists have tried thier hand, and yesterday 2 super turbo smart engineers finally convinced me that I don't actually have a fault. It's working wrong but right and my spec is wrong but my drawing is right. Fun times
