Their dept is blaming it on the "large aggressive dog" that "charged them" rather than he accidently pulled the trigger while pushing the door open.

That was keystone kops from start to finish.

First the officer shoots her, then he points the gun at her as he is attempting to pick her up and drag her. He bizarrely starts referring to her as “baby”. One of the other officers shows up, unsure of the situation, and decides to puff out his chest in an attempt to assert dominance over the gunshot wound. Her fellow officers then drag her around some more, the marksman calls her “baby” a few more times, and they throw her in a car and drive her the length of the parking lot. She sees the ambulance and cries out for it, in an attempt to get away from her bumbling coworkers, and they next find out that Police cars lock from the inside in order to stop criminals from fleeing.

They then fumble around and drag her over to the ambulance while her unintentional assailant again refers to her as “baby”. They finish off the encounter by forceing her to climb into the ambulance under her own power while suffering from a gunshot wound to her back.

Thank god for body cams, because this happens more often than you'd think. Before video, they would make up a story and arrest bystanders while the media lost their minds reporting on the War on Cops (tm). I can think of 3 instances in my local area ( a couple hours from where this happened) off the top of my head.
