Good, I found the original book thread on here...

Just picked this one up.

Over a 1000 pages, just how I like 'm. Don't know anything about the series, so hopefully it rocks.
Finally finished the three books. Over 3000 pages. Well done, fun read, amazing characters.

He's a cool cat, and quite ruthless if he has to. Again, Sanderson comes with great characters. Only 600 or something pages, seems a bit lighter read than The Way Of Kings saga.
there are some major twists at the end. really solving the physical, cognitivie, and spiritual realms going on here. and i hadnt seen it coming. the reread was even better. and the third time through was the best so far =)

Three Books I'm on now ...

From former FBI Futurist, Interpol advisor and beat cop Marc Goodman, a deep dive into the digital underground illuminating the alarming ways criminals, corporations, and even countries are using new and emerging technologies against you—and how this makes everyone more vulnerable than you ever thought possible

This textbook, at nearly 500 pages, will explain how to become digitally invisible. You will make all of your communications private, data encrypted, internet connections anonymous, computers hardened, identity guarded, purchases secret, accounts secured, devices locked, and home address hidden. You will remove all personal information from public view and will reclaim your right to privacy. You will no longer give away your intimate details and you will take yourself out of 'the system'. You will use covert aliases and misinformation to eliminate current and future threats toward your privacy & security. When taken to the extreme, you will be impossible to compromise.

In AI Superpowers, Kai-fu Lee argues powerfully that because of these unprecedented developments in AI, dramatic changes will be happening much sooner than many of us expected. Indeed, as the US-Sino AI competition begins to heat up, Lee urges the US and China to both accept and to embrace the great responsibilities that come with significant technological power. Most experts already say that AI will have a devastating impact on blue-collar jobs. But Lee predicts that Chinese and American AI will have a strong impact on white-collar jobs as well. Is universal basic income the solution? In Lee’s opinion, probably not. But he provides a clear description of which jobs will be affected and how soon, which jobs can be enhanced with AI, and most importantly, how we can provide solutions to some of the most profound changes in human history that are coming soon.

Couldn’t they have summarised this in 10 or 20 points?

So I saw. Pretty excited about it.

I am careful though; a 4th book is not always a good thing. I've seen it enough that they use a 4th book to change directions, away from the main character, which basically makes it a spin-off within the series. Not a fan of it.

As for being bored? Going through The Wheel Of Time series right now so I have something to keep me busy until November. Hopefully I remember all the characters.

technically kaladin is probably the main character. but shallan is like a daenerus tsrgaruen level character to kaladins jon snow. just as big a character. dalinar is like a tyrion just as a big as Jon and dany. so i dunno about there being a main character per se

to be fair, tho I thin. you're gonna be right in a sense. j have a feeling that book 4 will have a lotttt of jasnah kholin, but im excited for that since she's badass

and nice work with wheel of time. im with ya. just started book 6 (fires of heaven or something) two days ago. fun series. definitely making it into my personal top 10, possibly even top 5. we will see

You have started the 5th book of Wheel of Time. I am in the 20 percent in.

Stormlight Archives had some strong characters besides Kaladin so I am not upset if he strays a bit. The Mistborn series after the third was a let down and I discovered for the first time Sanderson did create some duds. Th Red Rising trilogy by pierce Brown was also followed by a let down. But I may review my opinion on that.

Also, your references of Games Of Thrones; I haven't read any of the books, nor watched the show, btw lol.

ahhh OK. in game of thrones, or a song of ice and fire, there are technicallg two main characters, but you could argue that there are 5-10 characters equally as big since its such a massive series

so its similar to stormlight or wherl kf time in that sense

what you said about mistborn is interesting. I own them but have never tried mistborn era 2. mistborn era 1 is in my top 5 tho with stoemligjt, "game of thrones", first law trilogy and maybe wheel of time (despite being a young adult series. I expect and can't wait to see mistborn era 1 on screen someday)

First three books. Do. It. Now!

One of the best trilogies. It takes some work to get through the first chapters but it will pay off! Immense world, Roman mythology in space, space battles, elimination games, many good characters. You'll regret not having read them sooner.

ah no doubt. the person who recommended them to me did it very highly like u did which is why i bought them. I just looked. so its a trilogy plus two (and presumably a third book is currently being written to compete the sexondd trilogy?) and its the second trilogy which is weaker?

There isbthree books already, red rising, golden son, morning star. Then there is iron gold, and the latest, dark age as a continuation of the series. I will get to them eventually but it is the trilogy that is absolutely epic. Large strategic space battles, plenty if stuff going on at the same time, page turners.

I wonder if rogan read this one during his native American kick
No clue.
It's got plenty of Native America history in it. It's written really well. Very easy read. Absolutely insane times back then.

I will definitely be checking out more of Hampton Sides books after this one.
