An activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.

Stop saying MMA isn't a sport. Sports are made to entertain the masses. Priorities might get shifted, as they have in the UFC a bit, but whether you like it or not, it is unjustified to say it's not a sport.

Just food for thought.

Though I completely agree, what do you think will get into the olympics first, “e-sports” (in quotes because, no matter how much skill it takes to play a video game at that level, in my opinion, as someone who has grown up and still plays games, it should never be considered a sport) or mma?

Unfortunately, I think competitive Starcraft will make it before mma.

Sports have always been entertainment. In ancient Greece they were entertainment to the gods (and those goofs who wanted to see naked dudes wrestling) but nowadays people act as if it was a new thing. I'm not a fan at all of these ''freak'' matches (CM punk and others who shouldn't be having pro fights) and hate seeing guys not getting their shot because someone else has more followers etc but obviously businesses are trying to make bank. Prizefighting isn't the Olympic games

I think if MMA doesn't make it, it's not because it lacks elements of sport. The ammy scene has some guys, but the level of competition won't be nearly as high as it is for something like boxing. They'd also have to fight multiple times over the span of a week or two, which is really hard to pull off if we're talking actual MMA. It doesn't fit well with the Olympic model.

So yeah, I'd agree that e-sports likely has a better chance.
