Just a couple of friendly suggestions that might help user awareness:

  1. When someone is added to an ignore list, let the ignored party know with a notification. That would eliminate awkward conversational interactions and allow them to know if they are not able to be seen.
  2. An optional link to the post that led the person to ignore them - so they at least know why - This might help them be more aware of the kind of comment that causes them to be ignored and may (or may not) encourage them to not make such comments in the future.

Or you could just tell them yourself.

Yes, and maybe set aside a thread for ignorees to work out why they're being ignored. Brothers can talk it out..

Can we get an anonymous "Someone Thinks You're a Cunt!" notification added so that people know when they've been added to an ignore list?

I doubt you are on any ignore lists
Usually when you get ignored it is made obvious
Everybody makes the occasional good thread and good post, so I prefer to use the natural form of ignoring if deemed necessary.

Imagine how much good content somebody with a huge ignore list is missing

I think a ring or cage should be errected at a clandestine location and cheap flights made available for members to meet and work out their problems in a more caring and personal manner.

This meeting could be broadcast live on the site and bet on by other posters. The winner of the engagement would receive half the betting profit that they could then redeem towards a blue name or site branded clothing.

I think I have more people on ignore that I just view as dumb instead of trolls.

Actually, a couple are dumb trolls.

When I created the ignore function, I really thought it would be beneficial. In retrospect, I had no idea so many pussies existed on this site. We are debating removing the function, as this is a discussion board. When someone disagrees with your dumb opinions, that isnt reason to block them. Life is tough and this isnt a forum that caters to butthurt sissies. Parents who disiplined their children with a "time out" is what created the faggits on this forum. The ignore function will most likely be removed within a week.

I think it would be better to just put certain users on Ignore as a new-user default.

And get rid of the stupid rule that I can't Ignore Wild @Wild. I understand the reasoning for the policy, but that fucker is abusing the privilege

I could use a new Trophy.

Maybe a trophy if you go two years without Ignoring anyone, you get a Trophy.

Don't get me wrong, Splinty @Splinty, the prize package for Rookie of The Year was incredible. And the TMMAC Most Beautiful Man trophy from last year has a special place on my mantle. But there's a spot in the Guest Bedroom Trophy case, or maybe in the Pantry Trophy Case, for some "Internetting Like A Grown-Up" hardware.
