It's no secret that I'm not a fan of USADA, but they finally announce they'll no longer announce that people have been flagged until the case has shaken out to prevent gossip and tarnishing fighters. Now a guy who's inability to play by the rules is almost giving JBJ a run for his money takes the first opportunity he gets to throw Costa under the bus. Unreal.

I'd argue that USADA stopped announcing flaggings publicly so that they minimize public scrutiny/contradictions. If anything the silence encourages more gossip since me and many others have been saying this was probably the case after they pushed this fight back 3 or 4 times with no explanation.

UFC’s Chief Legal Officer Hunter Campbell went into further detail as to why this is an important aspect of the organization’s anti-doping program.

”If an athlete has a positive drug test, we aren’t putting them in a fight until their case is resolved -- but what we can do is give the athlete an opportunity to adjudicate their issue without the public rushing to judgment,” Campbell said. “Announcing the test result creates this narrative around the athlete before people understand the facts.”
Even if we assume your more nefarious (and completely plausible) assessment to be true. That still doesn't mean Yoel should be playing fucking National Enquirer on the MMA Hour.

Completely agree. I'm just curious if this was Malki's brilliant idea or something Yoel just said offhandedly
