What the hell is going on?

We already knew about the Raiders landing Antonio Brown, but yesterday shit went from weird to WTF:

The Browns just landed Odell Beckham Jr in a trade with New York

The Jets just signed Le'Veon Bell to a 4-year deal worth $52.5 million, $35 million of which is guaranteed.

OBJ keeps getting injured.

Bell's decision to sit out a year paid off. I'm not happy about the Jets getting him.

Back in August 2018 the Giants signed OBJ to a 5 year, $80 million extension - included in that money was a $20 million signing bonus. Then at the combine their GM said "We didn't sign Odell to trade him." Still, the rumors were out there.

13 days after the trade denials, they have traded arguably the best receiver in the league to Cleveland for a first round draft pick, a 3rd round draft pick and 23 year old safety Jabrill Peppers.

It might be worthwhile listening to New York local sports radio today. I'm sure the Giants fans are fucking pissed, and the Jets fans are ecstatic.

Yeah, there are people saying that it didn't pay off for him but that's looking at it short-term. The per-year amount is lower than what the franchise tag would have netted him had he not sat out, but he grabbed $35 million in guaranteed money with this deal.

The Steelers had offered him a 3-year deal worth $48 million - a larger per year figure than what he eventually signed with the Jets - but I don't know how much of that was guaranteed money.

Players today are more interested in that guaranteed money, and with these "contracts" I don't blame them. They can be cut for no reason at all and left with nothing.

I don't have a problem with how Bell handled this issue. The Steelers were trying to franchise tag him for a second year in a row, and he plays a position that historically allows for very short careers.

Only $17 million according to ESPN.

The San Francisco 49ers also made him a good offer but it had less guaranteed money apparently.

The Browns now have OBJ and Jarvis Landry.

If Baker Mayfield doesn't throw for 4,000 yards this season I'll be surprised.

Don’t forget about Kareem Hunt as well..
KC is apparently going to be a Super Bowl contender this year, but I still think it was really, really stupid to get rid of Hunt.

What he did was nothing compared to someone like Ray Rice, and imo he's clearly a top 5 RB with guys like Zeke, Gurley, Bell, and Kenyan Drake.

It's Cleveland, they will still find a way to fuck it up.

Whats amazing to me about this off season is all the trades. I dont remember football being about trades as much as it is this year.

And Njoku at TE.
With Chubb and Hunt at RB.

Their defense was solid last year too.

It sounds crazy to say, but I bet they win the AFC North next season.
And Duke is still on the roster as well.

If the line can protect Baker at all they're going to be hard to stop on offense.

Be prepared for lots of let downs this season.

Carr is a good, not great, qb and will struggle to get AB the ball enough and srruggle with the big personality and demands

Mayfield is going to have the big sophomore slump. Likely to lead the league in picks trying to force the ball to these guys

Bell will not look like Bell that was at Pburg. Different team and different culture. The Jets are always gonna be the Jets

I agree with points 1 and 3. But I think Mayfield is the real deal. Unfortunately.

I think this is exactly why teams like the Jets remain uncompetitive, for the most part year over year. They want that quick fix, stud player instead of building a franchise the right way, albeit a little slower. That is way too much guaranteed money for a RB nowadays. IMO

He is a competitor for sure. He was better than i thought his first year. I think he’s gonna have a solid career, but the 2nd year seems to be super difficult for young QB’s. The other teams have plenty of film to prepare and the young guys don’t have enough experience to decipher all the different formations. He has the Brett Favre mentality of a slinger. It will win him some games, but also cause lots of turnovers this season.

If I’m being honest, i found myself rooting for The Browns last year. I watched that stupid Hard Knocks show and wanted them to have a good season. Unless they were playing a team i like of course.

OBJ is a fucking train wreck of a teammate...but might work with mayfield
AB is a train wreck and Oakland is a shitshow...ticking drama bomb no doubt
